Good call. The 2nd Generation XX Perfect Pitch is a fantastic jig/frog rod. Let us know how you like it!

Re: No one knows the Braillist??

The Braillist is much closer in power to the Extreme Mission in the X7 series than it is to the Western Flip. I've found the Braillist to be plenty sensitive in general, X7 sensitive, absolutely not, but it's not a $600 rod either. I like the action and power of the rod for it's intended uses. It's ...

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS

I've fished quite a few Daiwa Steez AGS rods now and overall, they are fantastic. My personal favorite is the 761MMLFS spinning rod, mine is paired with a new US Exist. I've been a die hard "Stella guy" for a very long time and this is the first reel that's made me question that loyalty - ...

Re: Megabass levante

Much like in the XX series I can attest that the Perfect Pitch model is simply a special rod. I almost hate putting it down. The new look is pretty sharp too. My first impression was that they look and feel like a Megabass rods. I can say they're tough too because I foul hooked the foot of a very b...

Re: Megabass levante

The new Levante models will mirror the new XX lineup in regards to individual models. And after having the opportunity to fish a few new 2019 Levante models, I'm very happy with the changes. They are a significant improvement over the previous generation in all aspects in my opinion. I'm looking fo...

Re: Blue Emblem vs. Current ZPI PG and M offerings

I'll take the M or PG anytime over the BE. Yes, the BE is amazing, rare, highly sought after, which is noteworthy, but the new ZPI M and PG spools are absolutely incredible in several platforms including the TD-Z, Steez, and newer Zillion SV TW, Steez SV TW, and Steez A.

Re: What is the ultimate 1/2oz Jig combo?

Cal, you would pick the Braillist over the FMJ? The FMJ is a moving bait stick where the Braillist is for vertical bait presentations. In my hands, the FMJ is purely a jig and worm rod, and a fantastic one at that. Aye... i got the FMJ mixed up with the EMTF... darn initials.  ... I thou...

Re: Best Jig Rod for $200

Welcome =D> Check with the Tackle Trap, they may have a MB XX rod available. They were on sale. The best jig rod is the one you feel comfy with. Thanks! At $199 shipped, the first generation Megabass XX F6.5-70XX Jig and Worm is a great buy and one of the best jig rods at that price point. The Zodi...

Hmmm... i'll try to play... Either that or the new Orochi XX Braillist ... that's a good candidate too. Cal, you would pick the Braillist over the FMJ? Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I have the Bantam MGL on a couple of my Conquest rods and really like how it feels and fishes. I think it's the finest casting reel Shimano has built since the Chronarch D. How about Concept C with the Conquest Rod??? Have you tried it before???. how small the Bantam MGL to Concept C???. WW My reel...
