Re: All new steez sv tw

Mine is going on the limited US release 7'3" Real Control rod. Nice! Hadn't heard they were bringing any over. I ordered the new Steez last night. New frame, new spool(boost is new for me). I became interested, haven't bought a Daiwa since the Morethan PE TW. Still rocking my 2015(?) SV TW ...

Re: All new steez sv tw

Does this model have brass gears like the USDM CT SV or aluminum/alloy? Haven’t seen this listed. I just got back from the Classic and spoke with both the Daiwa Japan and Daiwa USA engineers at length about this reel, the Real Control rods, and the other new Daiwa USA releases. It's my understandin...

Re: New Zillion Rods

They are Fuji K-Frame Alconite guides. Must not be the titanium alconites. I thought Fuji stopped producing those. I've never had an issue with alconites myself. Still have a handful of customs with them. Blank is much more important to me. Nothing wrong with alconite guides however at a certain pr...

Re: New Zillion Rods

They are Fuji K-Frame Alconite guides. Even though some people expect TiSic or at least SS SiC on $300+ rods, the blanks used in this series are impressive. They feature "Super Volume Fiber" SVF Nanoplus for the standard models, and SVF Glass for the Flex Lite models from the beloved Toray company.

Re: New Zillion Rods

I'm happy to see a new Zillion rod series. A few of these rods are particularly exciting for me and I'm excited to fish them - for some reason that 68MFL spinning rod has me intrigued as a fan of jerk bait fishing with shorter spinning rods. Anybody who happens to be coming to the Classic this year,...

Re: Ultra Finesse Light Spinning

I'm a big fan of the Megabass P5 Whippet. Mine is paired with a US Exist 2500XH and I throw everything from 1/16 oz crappie jig heads with a small plastic to a 1/4 oz Dark Sleeper, and enjoy the rod for throwing a Vision 110 or a 110 JR. It's really a spectacular rod that excels with light single ho...

Do you know how the X10 bandersnatch would compare to the Dark sleeper?
Not yet but someday!

Re: 2017 Tatula Elite Versus 2023 Version

Good review, thank you for posting. The blanks by themselves on the 23 Tatula Elite are a noticeable improvement, not to mention the significant silver (paint) reduction! The Air Sensor reel seats are very comfortable too. I've enjoyed the few 23 Elite rods I've had the pleasure to fish so far and p...

Re: P5 ZCE versatility

How does clx/conquest/nrx 842C compare? I don't own or use any of the current Loomis 842 models, but the Loomis MBR 842 is a versatile medium power rod. I used to really enjoy the old GLX version I had. The current models NRX/Conquest both feel like very nice rods and I'm sure they fish similarly t...

Re: P5 ZCE versatility

Yea that's the other p5 I have considered. I thought the jerk bait special was too stiff for trebles but a pretty good snake rod I like the JDM P5 OneTen Stick better than the US P5 OneTen Special for the Vision 110 specifically. I understand the "Japan Style" vs "US Style" jerk bait rod thing, and...

Re: P5 ZCE versatility

The P5 Z-Crank Elseil is not what I'd consider an all purpose rod. It is a fantastic treble hook moving bait rod with a nice deep flex in a light, crisp package. You're wanting to throw a 5" Senko, small Keitech swim baits, and poppers on a MH all purpose type rod, but the ZCE is F3.5 (Megabass Medi...

I don't care what color it is, as long as it's an aluminum version of the current US Exist G LT, I'm in!

Re: Best Topwater Lure of the Year, 2023

This is bigger topwater / wake bait territory, but I generated some big bites with the Megabass Gorham 147 this year. If you can find some skinny water where they're active, watch out and hold tight. They smoked it. I just picked one of these up and am very excited to get it on the water under the ...
