Re: New combo- carbon head Hien

Given the feedback on the Hien, it seems I am going to have some issues deciding what to do with it. FC kind of rules out topwater. G Wood - thoughts? Beautiful combo! =D> I know you'll enjoy the Hein with a little more time on it. It's very, very versatile. I use mine for everything from top...

Re: Observations of Conquest 904c vs. NRX894c

I found d the 904 more powerful than 894. I agree. Once the rod is loaded up, the Conquest has more power, it just loads further into the blank. With regard to sensitivity, I don't find the difference between the 894 and 904 to be as wide a gap as the OP. Yes, the NRX is a bit more crisp, but I don...

Re: Megabass Flipping ??

The Aklys is a unique rod. I haven't fished it yet as the mat punching bite isn't up and running. When I first picked it up I was surprised by the overall weight - 10.1 oz. however, when I mounted a reel, the concept of the rod made sense. It is a truly neutrally balanced rod that feels absolutely i...

Re: Compile-X baitcaster

should I take a chance and use my Compile-X rod to frog fish? Jeff Are you talking about the 71H? If so, give it a shot because it's not the greatest bottom contact rod at it's price point. I've been fishing the new AGS Steez rods lately and as much as I like the look of the Compile-X, the AGS rods...

Re: Conquest 905 vs nrx 895

They are very different rods. The NRX 895 is a great blank overall, but incredibly tip heavy and uncomfortable to fish in general. It's my least favorite NRX rod overall due to the extreme tip heaviness. I've counterbalanced it and while I don't like doing that, it helps the rod tremendously. The Co...

Re: FMJ Vs PIII Bearing down

How does the Destroyer USA FMJ compare and contrast to the Phase III Bearing down as a jig/worm rod? Had the PIII bearing down and loved its feather weight for the power, and superb sensitivity but it was a bit short and didn't have quite the tip I like for roll casting and skipping. Wondering if t...

Re: Megabass Destroyer USA 2017 VS X7

The X7 blank is arguably the best Megabass has ever made. They retailed around the $600 mark and quickly developed a following among enthusiasts, and are still sought after today. They were built for the JDM market and there really aren't a lot of models that closely resemble the US Destroyer models...

Re: Need help ( Bottom contact rod)

Do you guys throw braid to leader with these rods? Great selections so far. You may also consider the Megabass Addermine in the US Destroyer series as your spinning rod. I use straight FC with them, unless the FMJ is being fished around heavy grass, then I'll go straight braid. I do not like braid ...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

The Enforcer feels excellent in hand. It's not quite as fast an action as I had anticipated, but for guys who fish a lot of big water for small mouth, it's going to be very popular. I plan to do a little night fishing with small jigs this summer to give the Enforcer some time, but my spinning rod de...

Re: NRX 854C!

The place I bought it from went out of business unfortunately! Apparently it's hard for a tackle shop to stay open here in Central Indiana, that would've made things much easier though! lol. I just wanted to vent somewhere, I'll get it sent in I reckon and get another 893! (If they will let me upgr...
