Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods

Gary - have you had a chance to fish the PP? Curious to know if it has the same tip as the old one and if it would be just as good of a frog rod. I have other stuff for pitching so this would be a dedicated frog rod. If the old one is better suited, ill be lurking on here early next wk ;) -z Hi Z -...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

i found the 843 to be noticeably more powerful than the NRX version. can anyone compare the tip and the power of the CNQ 842 to the NRX 842 or old GLX 842? Exactly. The Conquest 842 is noticeably more powerful than the NRX or GLX version as well. I've been fishing crank baits, jerk baits, and a 5&q...

Re: Levante Spinnerbait Special, Super Orochi XXX?

I'd keep an eye on The Tackle Trap website as far as 1st Generation XX rods go... might be a nice surprise soon, don't ask for details guys, just keep a watch 8-) Great, now I get to run my phone battery down F5ing the browser all day. Public Service Announcement - save your battery from refreshing...

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods

Bronzefly, can you possibly comment on the Emtf you fished please? Can it still be used for bottom contact and plastics like the old Emtf? Or is it much more parabolic, specifically for crankbaits/moving baits? I'm hoping it is just as versatile as the older one i own... before ordering the new Emt...

Re: Levante Spinnerbait Special, Super Orochi XXX?

Thanks for the feedback - I was sort of expecting this kind of response given the reputation of the first gen XX rods. I'll start keeping an eye on eBay. The Super Orochi XXX also looks intriguing. Any opinions on the Super Orochi (primarily for single hook moving baits)? I'd keep an eye on The Tac...

It has Duralumin gears. In my reels, they have been very tough. The Zillion SV TW does have brass gears and we build custom 9:1 models with either gold or red highlights too for those who prefer fast and brass!

Re: Frog Reel search

I suspect that the Bantam MGL is going to make a spectacular frog reel. I haven't fished it for that technique yet, but the left hand models will arrive in time. I have fished the RH model and it's one fine reel that I think is going to get a lot of attention when more of them get out there. We fina...

Re: MB swimbait rod

Sorry to dissapoint you guys but my heart is with the ts KOB, Im almost certain that will be my rod choice and will be placing order very soon. No disappointment at all, only experience and wisdom being offered to answer your questions. Are you now talking about the "King of Baccarat" in ...

Re: NEW Megabass Sonic Side crank

I'm excited about this one too. Like a lot of guys, I would have loved to have a bunch of them in stock in February, but it will catch fish year round in my waters. We'll have them up for pre-order as soon as we can!

Hey Mark - be sure to save me a couple of those prototype Mat Shad

Re: How long for my new xXx to come in?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this situation has been resolved and you have a new US Destroyer Addermine now in your line up? The Tackle Trap tries to keep many the XXX models in stock, but they've been pretty popular. We order them on a regular basis for our customers from Japan. The proce...

Re: MB swimbait rod

Thanks for the update guys, I saw somewhere a post the Ogre and the Ts as two peice; but will keep the Srd on my radar as well. Yes, they are both "off set handle" models. Regardless, the Super Red Demon is clearly the best tool for the job here in my opinion and a one piece if that matte...

Re: One Ten Special questions?

The 110 Special US Destroyer is absolutely capable of fishing light bottom contact stuff, finesse type 1/4 oz jig included. Last year, it was one of my go to pond hopping rods due to it's versatility. I fished a jig rig with a small plastic on it a lot as well as some weightless Senkos. I was throwi...

Re: Do Expride rods have a high rate of breakage?

I actually like the current Expride series better than the higher priced original series. These rods don't get enough love, and certainly have a lot of competition, and a lot of concern over the one year warranty, but guys who fish them are really happy with them. I have not seen a high rate of brea...

Re: MB swimbait rod

My rod locker will only be able to accomdate up to 7’6” max. That's a serious limitation... you should check with Bronzefly and see if they have any of the original Orochi XX Leviathon's still in stock. That was a two piece stick separating at the handle and would fit in your rod locker perfectly. ...
