Re: Hooks/Split Rings

Do not like Owner hooks in saltwater, because they rust.
Split rings are great though.

Switched completely from Owner to Gamakatsu.
Nanosmooth Coat for freshwater.
Hyper Shield for saltwater.

Which SV spools are prone to be stuck?
Never had any issues with Zillion or Steez G1 spools.

Re: Mail Call

New month, and another call directly from Japan, brought to here by KUBOTA staff. New 2019 product from Jackall - TN80, should be good in saltwater. B Crawler Swimmer swimjigs and a trailer for it - B Crawl Flapper. Excellent combo, catches bass even in clear water. https://live.staticflickr.com/655...

Re: High End JDM spinning rod help

Gentlemen, I decided, I'll go with Shimano Ultima 2610L-S, the length was the deciding factor, can't except (mentally) anything lower than 6'10". Should be a great combo paired with Vanquish 2500SHG or C2500SHG. Thank you so much your valuable input! Learning everyday by reading this forum! TT rocks!

High End JDM spinning rod help

Which high-end JDM rod would you suggest/pick for ultimate ned rig rod and small jerkbaits (X-80Jr., FX6.6, Yo-zuri Pins Minnow, etc) So far contenders are: 1. SHIMANO POISON ULTIMA 2610L-S 2-7g 6'10" solid tip, dia. 0.8mm Released by Shimano a month ago 04/2019 in Japan, so far almost zero reviews....

It appears that sales tax is now charged for out of state orders. This is new, correct?
I just tried - it is not. Showing my sales tax is 0

Re: Favorite Chatterbait

Wow! Why so many? It's one of my to go-baits and the availability is mostly really bad - therefore I am glad to get the chance to buy some of them from time to time. In that box you have all weights 1/8, 3/16, 1/4Oz and colors? Or just one model? I guess you have a lot of pikes out there. I would t...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

I recall receiving a Rage 68MH rod as a promotional rod at one point. (It was a deal, buy two Extremes and get one Rage) And it was a decent rod for the retail price ($149), caught a lot of fish on it. Sensitivity was good. In general I like higher end St. Croix sticks for sensitivity, don't see any...

Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic

Sometimes don't understand logic how this corporate business works... The rods are available for sale in Japan and for overseas buyers since February 2018 . Priced around ~¥30,000, depends of the model. Everyone who wanted to get them, already got it long time ago. And Shimano US listed the arrival ...

Re: DC (Antares, Calcutta, spool tension, distance, etc.)

Could you share those Japanese videos? In order for me to get the best distance on my 2016 Antares DC, I do tight the spool tension to the point where I can go lower on brakes at X Mode. You gotta use X Mode to reach the maximum. Best casts I had - have been at X Mode, brakes set at 4, and spool ten...

Re: Antares 2019?

The channel is all about getting commission from TW, if you click at the links in the description you get ?from=tbassin in the end the TW url. Basically, they will never tell you anything about Sedition or Steez Racing Design rods.
