Re: Other NRX foregrip problem
I had the 853 and 854 NRX and had the same issues. Great blanks but the reel seat issues were too much for me to want to deal with. Have since sold both and went back to GLX's. I still have 2 NRX spinning rods and the reel seat on the spinning rods are fine (no issues that I am aware of) and I am ve...

Re: G. Loomis MBR842C GLX
I haven't had a chance to use the MBR842 a lot yet, but everything about that rod just feels right. I did end up with the 783 GLX for my spinnerbait rod and I think I am going to really like it for that application. Also got a NRX854 JWR and it feels incredible! Every NRX I have purchased has lived ...

Re: Who makes a good co-poly?
Gamma makes a great co-poly that is very strong. I have been using their line for the last few years and it is the best I've found.

Re: G. Loomis MBR842C GLX
LC Man and David, I don't mind the idea of the 783 GLX, I just hate to put GLX money into a dedicated spinnerbait rod. I throw 3/8 and 1/2 oz. spinnerbaits 99% of the time. If I go to a 3/4 oz. I would throw on either the 843 or 844. I like longer rods for jigs/worms, but am actually looking for a s...

Re: Pflueger Patriarch musings
I had a chance to check out the Patriarch spinning reel yesterday and all I can say is WOW!! I am a die hard Shimano guy but this thing was incredible, felt better than my CI4. Only thing I didn't care for was the foam knob but otherwise it felt sick!

Re: G. Loomis MBR842C GLX
Maybe I should clarify. I sold the BCR803 GLX not because I didn't like the action (actually really liked the action) but because I simply prefer seven foot rods and couldn't get used to the length. Cal, that takes out the 802 (sorry, maybe 852??). The 853 NRX is a completely different rod than my 8...

G. Loomis MBR842C GLX
I know this is a very popular rod and I am getting ready to place an order for most likely three rods. I sold five sticks this winter and I currently have left: CBR843 MBR843 IMX MBR844 IMX NRX853 JWR BCFR863 GLX NRX822S SYR NRX852S JWR I thought the MBR842 would fill a gap and am thinking of using ...

Re: G Loomis NRX 854C JWR
I have the 853 NRX and it is very sensitive. I can't give a direct comparison to the same rod in the GLX series but can tell you that I had the BCR803 GLX and the 853 NRX is a half power heavier than the 803.

Re: g loomis NRX worth $450+?
I have the 852S JWR, 822S SYR and the 853C JWR. All are very nice sticks. I'm planning to add the 854C JWR in the next couple of weeks. To me they are worth it, best rods I've ever fished.

Re: Loomis Deep Flex Crankbait Rod
I really like the 843 but didn't care for the 845, just wish they made a cbr844. Thinking I might not mind the action of the 864 if I like the 843 as this rods' action is much more parabolic than the 845?? Might have to pull the trigger on the 864 and give it a try.

Loomis Deep Flex Crankbait Rod
I have the CBR843 and have owned the CBR845. I am basically looking for a rod that is a little "softer" or more moderate than the 845. I am considering the CBR864 DF. If anyone has fished with this rod, I would appreciate your comments.

Re: Dobyns vs G Loomis
I voted Dobys, although I feel G-Loomis pioneered the modern fishing rod industry. I think loomis failed to keep up with what today's anglers are looking for. I think loomis has become overpriced and their customer service has gone down the toilet. For example, a lot of people purchased loomis rods...

Re: Revo Premier ??
PumaJeff, All I own are Shimano and Daiwa reels so I am certainly not a Abu fan. However, an aluminum reel (full size, not finesse) weighing in at just over six ounces is a pretty big deal in my opinion no matter how many bearings it has. I am very interested in this new reel. As soon as Shimano or ...

Re: Revo Premier ??
Not sure what you mean Puma Jeff???
Abu was thinking that they would make the lightest, all aluminum reel on the market because a lot of people do not like the durability issues associated with Mg reels.
