Drop Shoting with Hi-Vis
Anyone make the switch to drop shoting with Hi-Vis braided lines? I'm wondering if it made any difference in your catch rate? I'm thinking that most of my bites are under a tight line and are felt before any visual clues are necessary. I've also been using moss green Sunline and Power Pro with a lea...

Phenix Recon Rod Weights?
Anyone have any rod weights for the Phenix Recon line? I’m thinking about giving one a shot and was wondering how light they are and if they are considered a sensitive rod for the money. Any better options in that price point? Looking for something light and sensitive in the $200 range.

Tatula Type R line groove
I made a cast the other day and noticed nicks on my line from hook sets. Checked my TWS line guide and sure enough I found a groove dead center. Reel has only had fluorocarbon line spooled on it. What are my options? Looking for a potential upgrade for this problem. I called Daiwa and it sounds like...

Re: Senko rod specs?
7' MH spinning rod, 5" weightless wacky rig with an o-ring on 8lb flouro for light cover. One thing I hate about fishing it on a baitcaster is when the bait decides to rip off mid-flight.

Re: G Loomis GL2
I was looking at the jig and worm 854. Pretty sad that they used aluminum oxide guides. Crucial atleast gets you alconite and im 10 graphite, but i wouldn't consider it light either. Still can't believe this rod was icast best in show.

Re: G Loomis GL2
I dont own one,but was considering buying one until i got my hands on one. Too heavy and overpriced for the components you get. Nice looking rod, but over hyped. I rather buy a Crucial or Recon for less money. Its a shame too because i have two scorpion 1001's that would look killer on the rod.

Edge Rods by G.Loomis
Just read the new article on Edge Rods by Gary Loomis. Cal did a great job and I can't wait to get my hands on these. It will be interesting to see if they release a spiral wrapped production rod. Hopefully the pricing will be reasonable.

I'd like to send out my reel to upgrade my drag and the bearings. Can someone please refer someone in the US. Any feedback on what components I should use would be appreciated.

Re: Daiwa TD-Z 103ML Spool Options?
happihooker, No, there will not be a breakin period on the Steez spool. What you are seeing is the effect of the tuning on the Magforce inductor. Here is what I said in my previous post: Yes, the Steez spool will work and you'll realize some of the tuning from the inductor. The spools tension may h...

Re: Daiwa TD-Z 103ML Spool Options?
I had an opportunity to test out the Steez spool this weekend on the TD-Z. So far, I'm not impressed with standard casts. :( The spool accelerates very quickly, but it appears that the brakes aren't as effective with this spool. The set-up can not be casted aggressively. If you try to, it creates a ...

Re: Daiwa TD-Z 103ML Spool Options?
Thanks for the info.
I ordered a stock Steez spool today.
A little steep for a stock spool @$100.00, but I needed a spool.
The one I have popped out of my hand like a yo-yo and chipped.

Daiwa TD-Z 103ML Spool Options?
I'm looking into replacing the spool on my TD-Z 103ML and was wondering what are my options? I read that the Steez spool will work on the TD-Z. Has anyone tried this and are there any issues with this upgrade?
Thanks, HH
