Re: Shimano Scorpion?
Absolutely correct. I was referring to the 1000XT.LowRange wrote:To be clear there is more than one reel called Shimano Scorpion. This is a bit of an over simplification but, Scorpion = JDM Curado.

Re: Shimano Scorpion?
I believe the Scorpion and Curado are cut from the same cloth, Scorp doesn't have the anti-reverse paw like the Curado. Thus making just a touch lighter and a tiny bit smoother. Scorpion is a very nice reel. I have one and always thought it compared favorably with the Core. When fishing both reels (...

Re: GLX 855 vs IMX 894
Much is dependent on what you are using the rod for. But generally speaking, getting a GLX over an IMX ia for about the same money is never a "bad" idea.

Re: Topwater Action with the Live Target Sunfish
Wonder how that bait would work in saltwater. About "pinfish" size, Back Bay or beach fishing. No floating crud either.

Your post in the "reels" section was removed. Please only post in one section (pick the best one and start the thread). Such cross posting only clutters the forum and splits responses.

Re: Supertuning defined
Polishing internals, Upgrading bearings, oftentimes swapping spools and components to lighten the reel, upgrading the drag. May also include swapping gears. Much depends on what the person is trying to achieve. Generically speaking, it usually includes a bearing and drag upgrade with some internal p...

Re: 2 piece casting rod for bank fishing
I have a GraphiteLeader Bosco 7' H as my bank fishing "car trunk" rod. It works great as I am faced with rather weedy shorelines here in Florida. Check out their line as they have a variety of 2 piece rods. Performance and sensitivity is quite good also. http://www.olympic-co-ltd.jp/enfishing/index....

Re: Beware of Shimano "Warranty"
Hard to imagine voiding a warranty for a clean and relube. Wonder if that's just his interpretation or actual policy?
I would think the least Shimano would do is open and inspect reel for improper use or owner/operator error before voiding anything.
