Re: Dobyns 2018 Ultra High End Rods
On a side note does anyone think the Champion rods will get an update in the near future? The blanks have stayed the same since they came out with the Gen 2 models and only the guides changed in the XP update. They have added a couple of models here and there also. In the last couple of years the Ex...

A New Citica?
While definitely not as sexy as some of Shimano's other offering does anyone have any insight/rumors/feelings about a new Citica? The E models are quite robust at their price point and even better with a couple of small mods. Given that Shimano upgraded the Curado last year it can be imagined that t...

Re: Which Dobyns Rod? Help!
As you want to stay with a glass rod and at 7 foot in length I suggest the 705CB. It's the same rod I have for squarebills, rattletraps and mid depth cranks (up to about 10 feet) around cover. This rod is excellent and everyone who fishes with it loves it. I have only fished the 705CB model and not ...

I also think that you see so many pieces of equipment in great shape due to the use of reel covers, rod covers and everyone having 15 setups so any on doesn't get much use. I also think a lot of folks have just gotten used to having the internet putting them in touch with some many people that buyin...

Re: Cara Lizzard Dragger
I have owned this rod in the past. The rod is OK but it now get used by guests in the boat. I personnally prefer a longer rod for fishing a carolina rod. I typically use 3' to 4' of leader and never felt comfortable doing this on a 7' rod. Also in my opinion, at the price point of ~$200 I feel there...

Question on Mike Long Jig Rod
I am thinking about getting one of these rods for throwing football jigs and was wondering what the upper weight limit is? I regularly through 3/4oz (plus trailer) and sometimes go as high as 1 oz. Many people have raved about how it fishes 1/2oz jigs but I was wondering about the heavier ones?

How is it as a carolina rig rod? I fish alot of rocky lakes and might like a rod with a little more tip to help the weight through the rocks.

Re: Dobyns @ ICAST
Yes I realized after I posted that I probably should have suggested a 806 for the CB rod. I have the 805 and enjoy it but I like to fish deep weedlines with cranks here in Texas and you sometimes end up ripping the DD22s out of the grass. A little heavier rod but still with the feel of glass would b...

Re: Dobyns @ ICAST
Did not realize that the Savvy's had an exposed reel seat, I was going off of the photos on TW and they must of photographed the 766.

Re: Dobyns @ ICAST
Interesting to see what they come out with. The article seems to indicate that the 745C is a new model in full grip but it was issued late last year. Suprising that the bread and butter line of rods the Champions, is not adding very many more models. I believe it could handle the addition of a fines...

Too Early to Talk about Memorial Day Sales?
This is more of a question than a hot deal but has anyone seen or heard of any potential deals coming up for Memorial Day? I know I have seen where someone has posted the TW sale dates but I forgot to write them down. I will be putting together an order in my head all week. Thanks.
