Re: Rapala BX Balsa Waking Minnow

I'm also interested. Especially because it is listed as weighing 3/4 oz.

Re: Smithwick Rattlin Rogue Floater

Thanks for the info.

Does the Bagley Minnow B in both sizes set level in the water?

Smithwick Rattlin Rogue Floater

Any suggestions for a lure similar to the Rattlin Rogue but one a little heavier. It is important that the lure set level in the water as tail down causes to many snags.

Thanks in advance.

Update: Spool Weights W/WO Line, Primarily Shimano

Attached spool weight comparisons with and without line.

If anyone has the weight of the Shimano 150 CI4 spool with line it would be appreciated.

Reel Specs section if from the manufacture or Tackle Warehouse.

Bass Pro Shops Johnny Morris CarbonLite Baitcast Reel

Any experience with this reel?

I've a half dozen Shimano 50es' and a couple of Core 50 mg7 reels and some Citica 200es'. I looking for another light reel as a backup and the Cabonlite reel caught my eye though my preference is another Core. Just don't want to spend the money it takes to get a Core.

Re: size 50 reels

I have a stable of Curado 50e's and a couple of Core 50 MG7 reels. They are what I use most of the time. I also have three Citica 200 reels that I prefer when I need to throw a little heavier lures a long distance. When that occurs with the 50's and 14-17# mono I end up with very little line left on...

Re: Which Swim Jig

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I ended up going with the Brovarney swim bait primarily because it had the type of trailer keeper I wanted and because I could get the jig with out a skirt.

I've many hundreds of silicone tabs that I will never use so this will make a dent in the numbers.

Which Swim Jig

It is time for me to buy more swim jigs. I'm considering the Brovarney swim jigs as they appear to have a substantial wire bait keeper.

Are there other favorites that I should consider?

Thanks!

Re: The Mongrel

Thanks for posting The Mongrel. I'm always looking for something different.

It gave me the idea to combine the body of Reactions Innovations Double Wide Beaver and the tail of Culprit's 9" Fat Max.

This ended up with a lure that weighs 0.73 oz. which can easily be casted weightless if desired.

A 4 " Tube is a versatile bait . Can fish weightless over pads and other vegetation or weighted from a 1/16 oz up to 1/2 oz or more.

Trilene XL Reservations In Heavy Cover

I've been a user of Trilene XL (and Stren Original) for decades. For heavy cover (wood & pads) I use Stren Original and braid. Prefer XL as it coils less compared to Stren. However, XL is less abrasion resistant and seems to have more stretch. XL is a stronger line per diameter compared to Stren. Pa...

Re: What makes a finesse baitcaster...

The most important thing that makes a finesse baitcaster is spool weight filled with line. The lighter spool will start faster when pitching lighter baits
