New Pro Blue
Just got my Loomis Pro Blue(PBR844S) yesterday. Put a Stella 8000 on it and loaded it with 30lbs Power Pro(yellow) and put 40 lbs fulrocarbon leader on that. WOW! Can't wait to butterfly jig this week end.

Re: Palomar to Palomar?
I put a bimini twist in my braid first that way I have a good double line. After that I use the uni to uni for braid to floro.

G Loomis Backorder??
I ordered a Pro Blue rod over two weeks ago thru tackle direct and when I called today to check on it I was told that Loomis has not even made a run of these rods. I herd that they are having problems getting cork!? Anyone hear about this?

Re: too big a bait
This may sound silly, but try a black and gold Panther Martin inline spinner. This works for me when nothing else does in farm ponds. 1/8 to 1/4 oz. I use this on a light action spinning set up. When even a small bream or bass hits it the fight will make you smile .

Re: 1 piece vs 2 piece
Let's see how well the 61/2-7' one piece rods survive a fly-in trip to Canada. Not vey well from my experience. I have never had a problem with one piece rods damage on my fly in trips to Canada. Rubber band the rods together. Wrap a towel around the tips with another rubber band. Then place them i...

Re: Baitcasting Reel Help
If you want low profile go with Shimano Chronarch BSV. It is made to use inshore/ Saltwater. Round baitcaster Calcutta 200GT. Match either with Loomis Greenwater rod and you will be very happy.

Re: Saltwater / Bass Spinning Reel Advice Needed - Stella 30
The 3000 is the same as a 2500 but with a larger spool. It will hold more line than the 2500. I personal fish the same area you are( own second home in Gulf Breeze) and I use a Loomis green water in 71/2 foot with a stella 4000 with 20 lbs Power Pro and fluro leader. The 3000 should work for you as ...

Re: shimano DC questions
I don't know what size tarpon you are going after. If you stay with small you are ok. If you plan on 50+ lbs. and larger you should go with a calcutta TE in the 300 size. If you are good at playing a large fish you can get by on the 200 GT. The calaisDC is a great reel. But if you tie into a really ...

Re: New Stella...Smooth But....
I have bought three stellas this year. They are all US market fb's. They are my first ones and they are unbelievable. No noise, smooth, and strong.
