Exsence DC or Tatula type R100xs

I am thinking of buying one of these 2 reels to use for frog fishing. I am not sure which would be the better. If anyone uses one of these reels for frog fishing I welcome your thoughts on your reel.

Re: Favorite Hollow Body Frogs

I too use a frog much of the time. Boze Sumo is my choice for the reasons above plus it sits in the water like a real frog.

Re: Frog line

I use 30# Yo-Zuri Hybrid for my frog fishing which I do a lot of. I fish in heavy cover of grass, pads, & bulrushes with stumps mixed in & have not had problems. My frog rods are rated for 15 to 30 lb line. The line is a copolymer which has some forgiveness on hook set. I cross their eyes on hook se...

Re: Stick length

I use rod lengths from 5 1/2' to 7 1/2' . It just depends on what area of the lake & what pattern I am going to fish. I carry rods in the following lengths every time my boat leaves the ramp. 5 1/2, 6, 6 1/2, 7, & 7 1/2. They vary in line weight & action So I can change as needed.

Re: Scorpion 1000 vs Scorpion 1000 MG

I have both the Scorpion 1001 & the mg 1001. The mg will cast a bit farther but I like the the Scorpion 1001 better.

Sunline Shooter

This week-end I spooled up a couple of my worm rigs with the above line. I have noticed a slight noise when casting. Is this common when using Fluorocarbon? Thanks for your replies.

Re: Best Shimano Casting Reel for Cranking?

Any of the following will work just fine. Calais 200-5, Antares AR, Curado B-5, Curado B-3.8:1. I am left-handed so that is why I use the Antares AR instead of the Calais 100A. My Curado's have upgraded bearings & drag systems and are super tuned. You can fined the Curado B series on e-bay. If money...
