Re: Kistler Rods
Reno, comparing the Kistlers overall with the Airrus rods which one do you think is a better rod, and which is a better value?

Re: Fly rods
They are decent fly rods, and really pretty darn good when you consider the price. If you are looking for a rod with better sensitivity and line shooting accuracy then its worth plunking down the money for a Loomis (GLX), Sage, or Winston. Check out Temple Fork for a rod that has similar premium cha...

Re: Spin-fly
Hi Wahoo,
Interesting idea, I will definately give it a shot on my next trip. How does it affect feel and sensitivity though? Do you still have as good control?

Goto bait?
I have read and talked to many anglers that typically use various baits as: 1. Re: Any So Cal fisherman here???
I used to live in Central Cal, but I fished Lake perris a couple times. I think i'm cursed over there. Everytime I would end up with a few dinks while my buddies would hook up lunkers 8-12lbs!
I have had success at Fulmor and Elsinore for largemouth as well as some good sized cats.

Re: Stren Magnathin versus Maxima Ultragreen
Hi badboi,
Maxima all the way! I tried that STren, and found it good for the first week, then the line seemed to dry out and become brittle. The only downside to the Maxima is the relatively high memory

Re: SwimBaits
I have had a lot of success with the new Flastrix from Basstrix lures. But tehy fish more like worms tehn swimbaits. I do use Osprey lures but my favorite swimbait of all time is the Mike Shaw Slammer...this lure kills em! It is a huge swimbait with a diving lip.
