Re: Any problems with the Pflueger President Casting reel

I've had no trouble with my 2 presidents. They are good reels IMO.

Re: Anyone have a Revo Premier yet?

I looked at a core in a store and it was nowhere near as smooth as a revo stx. So...the premier is almost as light, a lot less money and smoother.

Re: Light weight/high line capacity spinning reel

Pflueger Supreme is a US made one of Magnesium. Not salt water capable. For others, look at Daiwa's magnesium reels. Dollar for dollar, they are lighter than Shimanos. Some are saltwater capable (i.e. Luvias) and some aren't. UL According to Pflueger the supreme is salt water capable. Also, I do no...

Re: TD LUNA

Luna for sure. Calcuttas are good too, but not as smooth as the luna. Records have some problems and I wouldn't get one.

The luna will take the abuse better than any other reel for muskies.

I just got one as a replacement for my old one that broke. (7' heavy frog rod). It looks awesome...can't wait to use it.

Re: curado 300

It'd be nice for us muskie guys. I tried throwing kickin minnows and 12" dunwright pike w/ the reel...wasn't gonna happen. Jerkbaits are the only thing I can use the reel for.

Re: New member - seeking advice

Sounds like an alright set up to me. The 300's are tough reels. I'm not sure how smooth the drag is. I think you'll find out soon enough since you're hooking into fish that will test it. St. Croix's are great rods. I don't notice much difference b/w the triumph's and premiers other than sometimes th...

Re: Gulp panfish bait fails fair tests

I've used the gulp ice fishing and it definitely isn't as good as real spikes or wax worms...but when I can't get them, gulp is nice to have and does catch fish.

Re: Musky Lures

Gliders are really underrated. I use them more than anything else for muskies. Hellhounds, phantoms, undertakers...ect. When the water is cold use live suckers on a quick-strike rig. Otherwise, if its legal you can try the trout.

Re: Daiwa Millionaire cvz253a question

I love my cvx-253a's...and the cvz's are smoother. They and the pflueger trion (round version) are the only reels I've had stand up to the muskie fishing abuse

Re: JUN Supra MKIV

Nice lightning. I wish they still made those trucks. They'll definitely be highly sought after in 30 years. Here's my car. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/4/web/2152000-2152999/2152735_22_full.jpg Its not fast (close to stock...13's)...but it drives great on the street. I made the mistak...

Re: JUN Supra MKIV

9's are common for supras? I've never seen one run that. 9's for hondas? After how much money? I've seen them in the 12's...but I've seen a few of them breaking. I guess the biggest problem is they can't figure out that the engine is sideways.

Higher gear ratio than Calcutta. Competitors are Luna and...thats it. Maybe the new Abu EXT's or whatever they're called.

Re: Avid vs. Crucial

I love my avids. I was a big fan of shimano rods but the eyes keep falling out. At least 1 has fallen out on all 3 of my Clarus rods. They are lower end rods than the crucials but I still am disappointed that they keep falling out.

Avid has a lifetime warranty and St. Croix has excellent service.
