Re: Must have topwaters
I also have the otomat. Pop max and otomat were made for each other! Deps buzzjet is also a top bait for me but I believe too heavy for the otomat to throw. I’d add: Evergreen Shower Blows Shorty Teckel Kicknocker (RI Vixen) Megabass Giant Dog X Giant dog X when you have glass calm conditions, kickn...

Re: Must have topwaters
MB Pop-X. Best popper evar , imo. How do you fish the Pop-X? Are you popping it like a regular popper, walking it, or some combination of both? I’ve personally had much more success on the pop max so I wonder what I’m missing with the pop x. I have two and have thrown them sparingly but only ever c...

What’s been your experience with the rod?HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 2:43 pmThe rod was finally delivered today after being stuck in Alaska for almost a week (FedEx has really gone downhill). The rod has a nice progressive regular taper to it. I think it will be great for 3/8-3/4 oz bladed jigs and larger top water.

Re: Suggestions for dedicated chatterbait rod
Is there anyone that can share actual first hand experience with the evergreen dire wolf rod? I’d like to get a sense of the sweet spot (3/8 - 3oz is a very wide lure rating), whether it can actually throw the whole range, and what techniques you feel the taper is best suited for. According to the E...

Can you post your impressions on this rod? I’ve always wanted to try evergreen.

Re: Suggestions for dedicated chatterbait rod
Ideally I'd rather composite over glass but I am using a rod (the Javelin) meant for cranking and still having issues letting the fish take the bait deep. Of course it may have just been one of those days where they were short striking so I will give it one more shot. Open to other suggestions. I'm ...

Re: Suggestions for dedicated chatterbait rod
You are just going to miss more fish in the spring. A lot of those fish that you miss are small bucks that aren't fully committed because they are somewhere in the spawning process. You may catch a few more of those fish on a softer glass rod, but you won't be able to move big fish away from cover ...

Suggestions for dedicated chatterbait rod
Throwing the chatterbait more this spring on my Destroyer Javelin. Missed a few bites and a had a few fish pull off on my last trip so thinking I might need to move to a glass/composite blend. I mostly fish 3/8oz and 1/2oz jackhammers but every now and then 3/4oz. 1/2oz is what I use the most. Some ...

Re: 2022 USDM Megabass Destroyer P5s
Big megabass fan. Not a fan of the P5 handle design. I never bought one of the JDM P5’s and I’m not sure if I’ll buy the USDM P5’s. No way am I buying a spinning rod with those tiny grips, and I hate the small butt grips on the casting models. I was hoping that would change with the USDM models. Sha...

Re: Zillion TW HD ‘22
Thanks for confirming the baggie. I’m a shimano guy and got a little concerned I might have gotten a reel that had been returned. I have it on my destroyer javelin for now - the combo looks sick. I will be using it for mid to deep cranking and small paddletails like Keitech 4.8. It doesn’t seem like...

I just got mine. Is it supposed to come in a big cloth baggie?
I tried to post a picture but getting the file size too big error.
