Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs XX Shakey Head

Looking at these two models for an all around spinning rod. Both are medium actions, the addermine is a little higher end and id prefer to go that route ideally, but trying to learn a little more about their actions. Anyone that has fished both that can compare? I already have a medium light XXX, so...

Re: line type for Wakebait (MB - I Jack)

Definitely a floating line - either mono or braid (or braid to mono is fine too)

Best BIG plastic worms

Bought a new jig/worm rod for this summer and want to try throwing more big plastic worms. Will be utilizing both texas rig and carolina rig. I already have a few Berkley 10" power worms. Just picked up some 11" Netbait C-Mac for texas rig and 8" Hags Tornado for carolina rig. What is...

Re: Megabass Deep Six opinions?

Finally threw this the other day. There was not a crank bite so I’ll reserve judgement however I did notice they take about twice as long to get down as the duo g87 baits. They do pull a LOT less which is what I was looking for and seem to have a nice shimmy. Will try to post again when the crankbai...

Re: Metanium MGL Issue

Same line on both reels; 10lb Sunline FC Assassin. Comparing them on the same rod which is a Dobyns 704CB.

I also noticed it takes considerably less effort to cast with the 2013 Met. I can do an easy lob cast where with the MGL I was really having to load the rod more on the cast to get distance.

Re: Metanium MGL Issue

There are 3 overall adjustments one can make to the MGL. Once you take the side plate off you have the internal tabs. As you mentioned you have the cast control cap but if you haven not adjusted the small wheel/dial under the reel with varying numbers (think it is 0-6) you should try that as well. ...

Metanium MGL Issue

I recently got my first Metanium MGL and had the chance to fish it for the first time yesterday. There wasn't much wind and I was throwing a 1/2oz bait but I kept getting backlashes and the distance wasn't anywhere near to what I get with my 2013 Metanium. Casting distance was comparable to an old S...

Re: Dobyns 705cb or loomis imx pro 845cbr

I have the 704CB for jerkbaits and the 706CB for deep cranks/big jerkbaits/big topwater/small swimbaits. I've thought about getting the 705CB to complete the set. I'm sure the 705CB would be good for topwater as well. I think the Dobyns 705CB is supposed to be a modern take on the 845CBR. I've never...

Ended up getting Megabass Sexy Shad and Biwako See Through Chart. If they end up doing well for me I'll pick up another in IW. Thanks for the suggestions

Re: Megabass X-80 TD Trick Darter Jerkbaits

I go to the trick darter when it's not as strong of a reaction bite and/or they won't hit the 110. I've had some days with calm clear water where they won't commit to the 110 but I was able to get bites on the trick darter. One thing to be aware of is that most of them have a slow sink versus the 11...

Megabass Deep Six opinions?

Thinking about picking one up...cabin fever killing me in the northeast. I like the duo deep cranks but they pull so hard. This is supposed to pull less but does it still get down 15+ on 12lb fluoro? And catch?

Re: Favorite Mid-Range Crankbait (8-12 feet)

Duo Realis M65 8A and 11A, particularly in Mello Blaze color, chartreuse with orange belly.... :!: Very good hooks too. Slayed big walleyes, Lmb, and Smb at all times of day. I can't wait til it warms up What water clarity are you fishing the mello blaze in? Looks like a dirty water color, but you ...

Re: Favorite Mid-Range Crankbait (8-12 feet)

I just picked up some 3XD, Duo Realis M65 11A and Little John Baby DD to try. Have the Little John DD but that's listed as a 20 foot diver. Haven't gotten to fish with it enough yet. I have the RK Crawler but never did too well with it. Also plan on picking up some of the Megabass Deep X 300. They d...
