Re: Steez A spool options

I pulled the trigger and have the Steez A TW on the way. Is the casting distance that noticeable with the ZPI spool vs stock? My thought is to see how it is stock first before making the extra $150 investment in the spool. Was just looking for some feedback here to figure out what my options are if ...

Re: Reel for MB Destroyer FMJ

I’ve got a Steez A on mine... as said it balances better than the Steez SV TW. Great combo. Are you using the stock spool? I made a post on the enthusiast forum about which spool would be ideal for 15lb fluoro and 3/8 - 1 ounce baits. Wondering if the stock will be good or if it's worth picking up ...

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

Anyone know what the medium + is intended for? The action is fast whereas the medium heavy is "regular fast". I believe 7'3MH is for jig and worm but not sure about the medium+ which is what I'm currently considering. It's time for me to upgrade my medium action bottom contact baitcasting rod and ho...

Steez A spool options

Hi All, I'm looking at purchasing a Steez A TW to put on my Destroyer FMJ. I'm primarily using the rod for 1/2oz jigs and 3/8 - 3/4oz bullet weights + plastic. Will the stock spool be the best bet for these lure weights? Or should I consider the ZPI NRC PG spool or something else? I'm fishing 15lb f...

Do the discounts mean new models coming later this year (iCast)?

Re: MB Dark Sleeper

I was in the market for a similar rod before MB announced the new destroyers. I ended up with the Conquest 842S for bottom contact techniques. I'll be curious to see how you like the brigand. I went to WVU years ago (2008 grad) so had some experience fishing lakes around the campus (mostly cheat lak...

Re: Reel for MB Destroyer FMJ

I tried both reels on the FMJ before buying. Went with Steez A because it balanced better. Steez SV was too tip-heavy. Currently, I have the new morethan PE 1000 on the FMJ only because it looks better. Any reason to go for the morethan over the Steez A other than cosmetics? Do they perform the sam...

Re: Reel for MB Destroyer FMJ

Looks like the Steez A in 8.1 is only available in Japan. I'm thinking of pulling the trigger, is there anything I need to worry about when buying a reel overseas? I guess if there are any problems with the reel, customer support may be one issue.

Reel for MB Destroyer FMJ

I currently have a Metanium MGL on my destroyer FMJ but was thinking about picking up one of the Steez reels for this rod. Am I better off with the SV TWS or the A TW? I don't think the new CT SV can handle enough line, I use 16lb Sniper with that set up.

Also open to other considerations

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

I haven't been able to call yet to confirm, but these are listed on another US tackle site as 1 piece. That's my hope and if so I'm in for the Medium+ as I've been looking for a rod for light texas rigs and keitechs on 1/4 and 3/8 jigheads.

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

This is being discussed in more detail over on the TT review thread FYI.

I'm excited for these but trying to figure out what the deal is with them being 2 piece

Seperates in the middle of the blank. These come in both 1 and 2 piece.[/quote]

So you have to worry about it coming apart during casting and what not? The only rod I own that is 2 piece is my 11' surf fishing rod. If that's the case then I'm out on these.

What's with the 2 piece? I don't think TW makes mention of this but on Shimano Japan's website I think all of the rods being offered in USDM are 2 piece.

I would imagine you don't take it apart, that it just means the handle is separate and it's not one continuous blank?

Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic

I was looking at getting another MB Destroyer, but these have my eye for now. Waiting to see what models/tapers they come out with. Listed on TW, but only a few models. There's more in the lineup. Sounds like the 4 models listed are the only ones coming to the states. Alex Davis did a video on them...
