Custom rod by R.W. Rod on ebay
There is a custom rod builder on ebay from Minnesota. The name is R.W. Rod and he builds on St. Croix Blanks. Just wondering if anyone has purchased from him and how his craftsmanship was. Thanks

Re: Fluorocarbon vs Fluorocarbon leader...Difference
No personal attacks here but I have had no problems tying knots with the HD Carbon which is 100% FC. I have landed many big fish most recently a 220lb sword on 130lb leader double unied to 80lb braid. Good luck.

I also use the HD Pink and love it. I really believe it outfishes other flouro leaders. It is pretty tough and holds knots well also.

Re: Mono backing?
Hey Wake, I am not sure what size Fin-Nor you are trying to fill but you will more than likely need some backing. Besides getting the spool full here are a couple more things to think about. I am not sure what you are after but if it is a long running fish like big tuna, sharks or any larger billfis...

Re: Whats up with PowerPro!
Gameover you are missing the point. New PowerPro is breaking way under it's advertised strength. I stopped using pp when they came out with the"new" rounder version. To me it was the new break way to easy version. I couldn't get a double uni to set in 50lb pp without it breaking. I have been pleased...

Powell 734 CF
Anyone use this rod? I am thinking of getting it for light flipping and carolina rigs. I would like to hear what the Powell users have to say.
