The competition between Bass Pro and Cabelas pushed them both to be competitive with their offerings at different price points, now, .. not so much. I liked the Cabelas house brand (rebadged Daiwa) stuff better. Now that Bass Pro has taken over, they are phasing out most of the Cabelas house brands...

I've got nothing bad to say about Lews reels, I have a few TEAM LEWS reels that have served me well. No problems over the 6 or 7 years. I have no experience with LEWS newer stuff. I use the Lews carbon fiber 95mm handle with the Abu replacement EVA knobs. Works for me.
