Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting the addermine but was curious how you guys hold your rods and reels. I hold mine right handed with the reel foot between my middle finger and ring finger. Two fingers in front. Two behind. It seems like the handle design favors more fingers in front of the reel....

Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

What size Senko sir ? 5" I have a F2.5 XXX Black Themis and while I know the power-levels are not super consistent across different lines, I am thinking/hoping the F3.5 Addermine should have the power needed for them. That's more of a hunk of plastic than I would throw on it sir. If cut in hal...

Re: Megabass Destroyer Addermine vs G Loomis NRX 852S JWR

.
That is good to hear, wacky rigged senkos are the main presentation I am looking to throw on it.
What size Senko sir ? I would disagree that the Addermine is not a drop shot rod. Perhaps not in the traditional sense of vertical presentations but it's pretty darn good and wouldn't ch...

Re: How to post for sale??

Just make sure they are halfway meaningful posts spread out over a reasonable amt of time. i've spread my 80 posts out over 6 years . a couple more years and i'll be there! :) I am at 88 posts in 13 years. You are way ahead of me. I've got 20 years and 1,400 posts on a smallmouth forum where I spen...

Re: What is your prefered reel for jerkbaits

If there is anything I have noticed, jerkbait gear seems to be very very different from person to person. Gear ratio? I have used and 7.3:1, 6.2:1 and 6.4:1. I much prefer a slower ratio as I am more concerned with presentation than I am with picking up slack. I use braid as a mainline so too fast ...

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Well, my dilemma has been solved! A member here PMed me about a Phase 3 Criffhanger he was selling and the price was good enough to make be jump on it. https://i.imgur.com/RzHwR57h.jpg?1 All I have done so far is about 20min of yard-fishing with it and I think this was what I was looking for. I pla...

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Understood sir and I agree. Amazing what just a few minutes with a potential purchase in hand can do to sway one way or another. Unfortunately I have had to always buy my rods "blind". The reason I have to research so much before buying. This forum is a gem. Agreed on those two. Similar in...

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Don't throw in the towel :). Keep hunting. I can't help you with your bottom contact choices in size or overall weight as I use smaller and way less weight even for my big smallies. I am strictly spin for such. Here's where I paste 15 links to articles from Ned's site on my lead/plastic uses. Keep i...

"Yes the CR721 is softer than the F2-60X Criffhanger. Go to YouTube and type in Megabass Movie The Bait Finesse and you can see Yuki Ito using the F2-60X."

Yes sir from that thread that was the sentence I remembered.

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Thank you sir. In my travels of trying to find anything I could on the Criffhanger I found some good information here from the way back days. If memory serves and don't hold me to this MHood posted that the Criffhanger was stiffer than the CR that you mention. He also posted a link to a video someth...

Re: Three 6' JDM Destroyers walk into a bar.....

Extremely remote smallmouth cast/cast and a half wide rivers are all I fish. I recently dropped Gary at TTT a near identical inquiry regarding my type of water. From all of my research looking for the ultimate (available) Megabass small top water rod I was dead set on the Elese carbon head but think...
