Re: Keep on Fishin'
`Is it so nice as all that?' asked the Mole shyly, though he was quite prepared to believe it as he leant back in his seat and surveyed the cushions, the oars, the rowlocks, and all the fascinating fittings, and felt the boat sway lightly under him. `Nice? It's the ONLY thing,' said the Water Rat so...

Re: Cotton Candy
As far as the pink colorations go, I think the thing about them is that they are designed to fish either reddish stained water, from red clay and sand, for example, or be 'reaction baits' that stand out a little 'too much' to very active bass.

Re: Stupid is as stupid does
I don't normally use a snap or a ring with a Jitterbug, but that doesn't mean you can't.
Personally, as far as the knot, there's lots of good choices, but I usually use the ol' "improved clinch knot" without thinking, and out of pure habit, on a bait like the JB.
-hope you nail it again.

Re: Blue-back herring color question
That's the Duane Raver Jr rendering. (Ster, if you paint that, you GOT to post it.) Anyway, if you go to google.images and search google images for 'blueback herring', you get all kinds of color, from silver to gold shades to green and blues and everything in between. I've got to think that it might...

Re: Stupid is as stupid does
I have to say, Smoke, I'm a bit sceptical that the bass broke your 8lb test. What kind of knot/split ring did you use?
I humbly append this query with the acknowledgement that, yes, I myself have lost lures, and fish, to lack of knot strength.

Re: Stylish fishing gear....
I think the best thing to do in this case is just go to the websites of the bait/rod/reel/boat companies you like and hit the 'gear' section. Most of them sell logo stuff right off the web.

CLU tackle
Anybody know anything about this operation? The paint jobs look great, but has anyone on the forum had experience with these lures? Or even ever heard of them, for that matter?

Light weight/high line capacity spinning reel
I have a spinning rod which I like for Carolina rigging and some applications with heavier line. It is 7', rated for 15-25lb test, and 3/8 to 1oz bait. I need a spinning reel that's a good match for it. The one I've been using handles the higher test line with good capacity, but it is too heavy and ...

Everytime you pick a bird's nest apart made up of braid or pricy fluorocarbon, it makes you better.

Re: Strike King Rocket Shads
For a couple of years after getting some of these, I didn't have any luck with them. I would occasionally fish them like regular spinnerbaits when I thought a smaller spinnerbait might be appropriate, or if I wanted something that could work up and down faster. I couldn't catch very much at all with...

Those are crazy! What scares me is what you might catch on one if you catch anything at all. -Some weird psychic squid from an HP Lovecraft story, or a plesiosaur from a cold deep lake, or worse.....
