Re: Top water rod help needed

I threw a Michael popper this week with my new MB Orochi XXX Themis and was very pleased with it. I have a Daiwa PX Type R on it and was able to sling the bait a country mile! I might add that the price I got it for makes it even sweeter. Came out to just under $200 brand new and shipped with the 2...

I swear that it was posted in one of the threads that the blanks were different.

Kinda makes me want a Bandersnatch now.

I’m picking up a Bandersnatch later this week. What would be your intended use if you were to get one?

Re: 2018 Curado DC

Sorry, I'm not that schooled on the DC systems... You can read about I-DC5 (not the same but similar to the Curado's system) in the Scorpion DC Review: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshim17scorpdc.html And 4x8 DC in the Antares review: http://www.tackletour.com/review16shimantaresdc.html Thanks Ca...

Sorry, I'm not that schooled on the DC systems, is one better than the other? 32 sounds better than 4, but I don't want to assume.

Re: 2018 Curado DC

Hey Dan, is there any difference between the DC system in this new Curado reel vs the one in the 2016 Antares DC? Improved?

Re: Bantam MGL 2018

I actually had a Conquest 200 on the Faust for a bit and was throwing Jackall Mikey wakebaits on it and it was perfect for that. I'll probably put the Conquest back on it and keep it for light swimbait duties.

Re: Bantam MGL 2018

I have both a JDM version of the PG and HG and have tried them on a host of rods. I threw a 3/8 oz Chatterbait/Jackhammer on a MB Levante Swingfire and it was perfect, I imagine it will throw the 1/2 oz really well too. I had one on a MB Destroyer Javelin and threw an MB V3 Bullet Shad and found it ...

Re: need saltwater reel

I use a Calcutta 100D for light duty SW work here in San Diego. While not as refined as a TE or GT, the D series is far from the former B series.

D-D64, I'm not sure where you're located but if you're in SoCal, you're welcome to try one of mine out.

Re: Daiwa Tatula Lt

Anyone using the new Lt for light weight gear? Time for a new trout reel and thinking about 1000. While not used it for trout, I do have a TALT1000D-XH that I picked up new a couple weeks ago. I've used it a couple times in the last week or so, and I have to say, I'm not that impressed with it. Gra...

Re: Best braid for spinning reels?

While I can't tell you about longevity, I did try Gliss Supersmooth Monotex 12lb on a Daiwa Exist 1025 this past weekend, and really liked it. Prior to that, I had it spooled with 20lb Maxcuatro but it wasn't holding enough line in some of the deeper waters I was fishing. The only negative I had wit...
