They're both good and viable choices. I'm a Minn Kota man, but digital would be nice.

we saw them on the grass suspended just on top of the grass line. I know fishing and not catching, but I would like to have the occasional hookup.

We tried throwing flukes in the 'new' grass early. To no avail. But I like the way you think.

Re: Want to purchase Drop shot rod
I used a kistler drop shot special (casting rod) and the rod was superb for it's application. If you want one call Clifford and he would be happy to help ya. I was going to get Kistler to make me a custom rod, but they had several already made up, and sold me for non custom price.
Cheers.

what to do?
Hey all, Went fishing today. It was horrible. We had a bunch of rain and the lake came up like four feet in the last week. Week before last the fish were locked down tight into the grass (20-28ft) and were doing biting well. Today couldn't get anything to bite. Tried jigs, carolina rigs, texas rigs,...

Re: G Loomis Custom Warranty
On a custom rod the blank is under warranty for 'lifetime' but the caveat is, that you would probably have to pay the custom maker some amount of money to 'rebuild - the custom rod-

Re: Summer weather lures?
I can't help from shore. But I can suggest going BIG. I throw big soft plastics in hot weather. The bass are active esp. in early morning and want a big meal and usually always have the energy to chase a big meal.

Re: G Loomis suggestion?
i think the full cork on loomis rods is "very classy, traditional". the split grip is rather "new and radical". maybe loomis wants to stay classy... I think more on the line if it aint broke dont fix it. They sell'em like hot cakes so why change? I can't argue, and have to take to my hat off to you...

Bait,
It's from my limited experience that once tacklewarehouse has them, it's a matter of time before the "big boys" have them. I know this doesn't answer your question but wanted to chime in.
Cheers

I understand classy, and am behind that 100% but I really do enjoy these features. They just "feel" right.
