Re: Difference between old vs new Norman Baby N's ?(DamnPeop

I've sent 9 Deep Tiny N's the "Pro's Secret" (blue package) baits back to Bill Norman for replacement due to stuck rattles. The customer service person told me I could try tapping them lightly with a hammer to try and loosen them, which worked on a couple, but most ended up going back (some would re...

Re: Why can't there be advanced rod sensitivity testing?

One more thing- if this did become a reality, sensitivity may be replaced with the more accuracte term efficiency. I can see the threads now "3/8-1/2oz jigs...should I go with a Loomis X-Fast GLX blank boasting 88% efficiency, or a Megabass Destroyer Fast action blank @ 82% efficiency?" I think it i...

Re: Why can't there be advanced rod sensitivity testing?

Very good food for thought. I will add my response to things effecting the rod's sensitivity, like the way an angler holds it, etc., should not effect which blank dampens the vibrations the least. You've got to take all that away...rod components/angler...just the blank and a measured amount of vibr...

Re: Why can't there be advanced rod sensitivity testing?

Testing could be done under controlled conditions and utilizing objective criteria. A few pertinent questions come to mind. Who is going to do this since this entity does not exist today? Who pays for all this? Lastly, how closely will the results match any real world testing? People are not the be...

Why can't there be advanced rod sensitivity testing?

This may be a just a tacke Junkies dream, but why can't there be something to measure a rods sensitivity besides a hand? Car/truck testing clearly has the skidpad, dyno numbers, price, etc. for a buyer to use. Is it too space age to think there couldn't be a meter to measure the vibration in and the...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

Thanks for the posts. Im deffinately going with some WECs. The price is insane but if theres such a thing as a "sleeper" bait im confident this will be it with its normal looks. The paint jobs are the most durable in the industry I heard. Only on the baits not made anymore. He still makes them in s...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

I share your addiction, but I love to throw all shallow divers. I do find myself throwing the full-bodied wobblers most of the time. The BDS 1 and 2 are just awesome. Ed Chambers (Zoom) wobbler is awesome as well, but is not made anymore. They are fetching some high prices. Heard GREAT things about ...

Re: New Loomis Rod... Which One?

As much as I love my 782 for jerkbaits, I can't imagine trying to set the hook with it. I own an 853, and it is ideal for all T-rigged worms, jigs up to 1/2oz, Senkos, and could use it as a chatterbait or spinnerbait rod as well. I use an mbr843 for spinnerbaits, but 853 can wear a few hats and gets...

Re: NEW Daiwa Alphas

Clearly the regular alphas with it's beautiful purple pearl finish and CRBB's is the way to go... Just curious, is the purple Alphas 103 still in production? :-k I have one and am happy with it. there's always room for another ;) Yes... http://www.bass.jp The exchange rate comes out to be around $2...

Re: Your Favorite Deep Diver Rod

I am using the St Croix Legend Tournament Magnum Cranker (TBC710HM). It's 7' 10" rated HM for 12-25 line and 1/2 to 1 3/8 lures. I really like the longer length rod for long casts to get those big baits down deep. It has the moderate action that many folks like for baits with trebles. My only probl...

Re: NEW Daiwa Alphas

It does look like the Curado magnumlite spool. Daiwa couldn't keep the V spool and significantly increase the line capacity, so in comes the U spool. I guess the Fuego has a similar spool.

Re: Pixy use

Yes. The airy red Pixy and TD-Z do not use a traditional paint followed up by a clear coat. To achieve a matte finish they are just spraying the reel with a couple of coats of laquer, minus the clear. The clearcoat, much like on your car's finish, is much harder and more durable than the paint itsel...

Re: NEW Daiwa Alphas

The Alphas F is still fiarly new, and I would be surprised if they replaced the F with this new 150H.. I feel it is just a new size for the Alphas and maybe like what others have mentioned as a JDM TD-A. I dont mind this new real at all and wouldnt mind owning one. But i do hope they keep the small...
