I'll just keep fishing it. You are right - it really is a shame. The reel looks like the day I bought it, except for that stupid dent. I guess I'll have to put down a rug next time I work on it.

Dented Spool

While servicing the spool on my Conquest 50, it fell to the tile floor below, landing on the rim of the spool. on the brake-side. As a result, the rim or lip or the spool at the impact-point has bent in slightly toward the axle. The dent is minor, and there is no rubbing caused by it. I would think ...

I remember when I needed a proprietary screw for a Conquest. This particular screw is not used in the Calcutta. I contacted Bantam, to see if he could possibly direct me to a source, and he asked for my address. Two days later, the part showed up in the mail.

Shimano nomenclature

This is a little off-topic, perhaps, but it has been bugging me.

Do you happen to know why Shimano decided to begin nearly everything in the US lineup with a "T," "C," or an "S"? I don't remember ever hearing why.
