Yes. The calais 100a and calais dc have HEG.

Re: Loomis BCR802 equivalent

I wouldn't even compare the bearing down to the 802 due to the power differences. The bearing down fishes more like the 804.

Re: megabass F4-610 GT3 Shiryu

I just spoke with Megabass USA. Rod is out of stock, but they are placing order with Japan tomorrow. Masaki told me the rod is not 100% fiberglass, but a graphite/fiberglass blend. Did they reinforce the vertical fibers with graphite?

megabass F4-610 GT3 Shiryu

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on this rod, just need a little push. Are the Shiryu owners out there happy with the purchase? Plan on using it for all my crankbait work (shallow to deep).

Re: inserts for recoil guides

I'm surprised your not having problems loosing fish throwing cranks on an extra fast rod using braid. I don't think you can put inserts in recoils. Not having to worry about inserts popping out is one of the pluses to the guides. You may want to try flourocarbon while throwing cranks on your bcr's. ...

Re: the perfect G loomis MBR783c reel

My steez keeps finding its way back on the 783. I've tried the calais 100a, but the steez feels better on the 783. For some reason it is the exact opposite on my BCR rods.

Re: recent SC redfish catches

Sweet, how's the fight with the alphas?
Awesome. Nothing like catching a redfish in a foot of water. They rip drag.

Re: recent SC redfish catches

Are ya using any light baitcasting gear to catch em?
I use an alpha all the time. Great inshore saltwater rig for light baits. The fish above was caught with a 2500 stella FA.

Re: Custom finesse plastic rod just arrived!!!

This is not really a Enthusiast Rod, it's a custom rod. Whatever man. If a custom built legend elite is not considered enthusiast tackle, I don't know what is. Maybe I should have put this in show and tell, but I wanted to give George Roth some recognition in one of our more popular forums. I also ...

Re: Custom finesse plastic rod just arrived!!!

I just took a closer look at the wrap. The first guide actually starts off off center to the left. The next two guides wrap around to the right. The 4th guide is completely underneath the rod, with all subsequent guides lined up with the 4th.

Re: Custom finesse plastic rod just arrived!!!

Derek777,

I noticed that right away when I took it out last night to cast. This is my first spiral wrap so I assumed it was normal. George knows what he is doing so I'm not worried about it.
