Re: Ordering Phenix X12 spinning rod
I'm a little late to this thread, but Phenix has discontinued the X series spinning rods. Your only option for an X12 spinning rod would be to custom make one, as the casting rods and blanks are still in production.

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Thank you, nothing too big but got a few fish on it. It's pretty smooth under load, will need more time with it before I start testing it with other spools.

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Been testing out the Zillion.. https://i.imgur.com/KqbpcKk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/XjscBhc.jpg Seems to cast heavier lures a good distance and just about average with lighter stuff, but that could have just been my rod. Been testing out the brakes from 6-10. Casting in the wind was decent as well. A...

Re: Straight Knot Strength - Tatsu?
I feel like Tatsu and Invisx are the fluoros with the best knot strength. They aren't my favorite though, although tatsu is a close 2nd or 3rd.

Re: Suffix 832 issues
My method as well, have never had braid slip. The night before, I also tie a overhand knot on the tag end (.5-1cm) as an insurance. I never do this on the water though.JBcrankaddict wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 7:22 amRun the line through the eye of hook twice and tie a uni knot. Will never slip with braid.

Re: Best general purpose fishing line and brand?
One thing to note, buy the Defier Armilo by line diameter, not rated strength.

Re: Best general purpose fishing line and brand?
You can try out Sunline Defier Armilo. It's pretty sensitive for a mono, but still won't give you the feel of fluoro. That's the mono with the least amount of stretch I've tried. I would bring one rod with fluoro and another with mono if you're taking two rods though. You can always go braid to lead...

Re: Custom Drop-Shot Rod
I will have that in consideration, maybe black friday or Christmas sales will help. For the k2, rodhouse.fr has some models, was thinking of asking them if it's possible to get a specific model. It should take some time but maybe they can do it. One question, while checking some reviews about the K...

Re: Need advice on spool and bearings for T3-1016
Magforce 3d works well with a lot of spools. It can take a bit of adjusting, but after you find the right settings, it's amazing. It's a shame Daiwa didn't use it in more of their reels.

Re: Need advice on spool and bearings for T3-1016
My favorite spools for the T3 platform are the orange sv1000 spools (both the regular and deep). Furthest casting spools I've tried on these reels.
Second is the SLP Works 1010 spool, but I'd take the sv1000 spool over the 1010 spool as well.
I haven't tried the ZPI or sv1012/1016 spools.

Re: Swimbait reel
If the op hasn't already purchased a reel, I'd strongly consider the Tatula 300. I'm not a huge tws fan, but initial impressions are very good. I also didn't think I'd like the narrower and taller size of the tatula 300, but it didn't bother me. A few hours in and I know that I'll like this reel muc...

Re: Favorite 15-20lb braid main line for spinning reels?
Maxima braid is my favorite, but I haven't tried the lighter lb tests for some reason. The color does bleed, but that doesn't bother me. I've been very happy with YGK SS140 (Better than average braid, but I love the markings ) and Hitena Silky Braid (high quality and better than ss140, but not cheap...
