Re: Bubble fishing for trout

7' fixed leader under a 1/8 oz indicator is not the easiest to cast with a 7' rod but until i find a better method.... I tried a slip bobber but when retrieving the fly it pulls it up out of the zone. What indicator are you using that weighs 1/8oz? Just wondering because I may want to try them out....

Re: What grease are you using for small spinning reels?

How thin is Super Lube when compared to Daiwa Space Age grease?

Asking because it's marketed as a heavy duty grease.

What grease are you using for small spinning reels?

Need a suggestion for new grease for 1000 sized spinning reels. Recently tried Shimano DG01/ACE-0 which is suppose to be Shimano's lightest grease, but I don't really care for it. It seems to get sticky very quickly. Any other thin or lighter grease suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: Scale Recommendation? +PB701MHF Weight

Here's the picture of the handle as well as the parts I used on the paper (all ordered directly from Matagi). I did cut and shape the cork slightly though, it's closer to 9" I believe. Edit: won't let me post the image for some reason... So here's the link. https://imgur.com/a/ZbZzUOi You can s...

Re: Scale Recommendation? +PB701MHF Weight

Reel seat is a painted Fuji PULS thanks to the recommendation of Toddmc. All the components are from Matagi, including the cork. If that's what you're asking.

Re: Scale Recommendation? +PB701MHF Weight

Beauty. Is that grip sculpted, or pre cut? Is that a Daiwa hook keeper? I threw mine in the trash. Thanks! It's pre cut. I prefer to buy them pre cut since I work every day (less time), but I shape my own grips when I can't find something that I need. Also, no one seems to want cork these days so I...

Re: Scale Recommendation? +PB701MHF Weight

I didn't measure deflection and I've already built it. Mine does feel closer to an MBR844 than an 843, but I need more time with it before I can clearly say for sure.

Re: Scale Recommendation? +PB701MHF Weight

PB701MHF = 65.34g / 2.305oz (listed as 1.94oz on PB's site) that is a pretty big discrepancy on published vs actual weights... hard to make up .35 oz! I was thinking the same thing! Love the blank though That's what it measured on my scale. Thought it was off too.. But the K2 came in lighter than w...

Re: Point Blank PB731MHXF

Phenix also had an issue with mislabeled blanks according to a thread a while a back. I would think that the manufacturers would have this problem figured out. I understand that most builders don't want permanent markings on a blank, but there should be something permanent that goes on the blank fo...

Re: Aftermarket handles

I'd stay away from those cheap ray's/aliexpress handles. I broke every one that I brought (4 total?). The layers started to peel and the handles had a bit of play.

Re: Any baits out there that "walks" by itself?

Oh I meant a bait that will walk on a straight retrieve.

I found something that might do. It has a jitterbug type lip.

Thanks, I know about the jitterbug. I saw something online recently about a bait that will "walk" for you on a straight retrieve, and I can't seem to find it. Weird, I know lol

I swore I saw something like this before, just can't find it anymore.

As a side note, it's not for me lol.
