Re: Daiwa Tatula 300 Question

Does anyone happen to know the proper size for the handle? My 300 just arrived and I can't figure out if its 7x4mm or 8x5mm? I see that some Tatula are 8x5mm but I don't know if that applies to all of them (and I don't have my calipers handy) Thanks simplest way to remember the rule of thumb, shima...

Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set

Nope, not a chance. The Z2020 and Z200 gears a quite a bit larger than the Ryoga 1016 gears and even larger than the Ryoga 2020 gears. Ryoga 2020 has the smallest gears? Now that's interesting. No I read it as the 1016 having the smallest...just that the Z2020/Z200 7.2 gears are larger than even th...

Re: Your Path to the Dark Side ...

The tackle bug really struck when I purchased a new daiwa alphas the original purple powerhouse, then found tackle tour forums back in the mid 2000s and found out about Pixies etc and reel mods. before that it was just round ABUs and millionaires for me.
I Blame TackleTour.

Re: 23 Daiwa steez a gen 2

Just received mine and I like it more than the original Steez A, feels smoother if that's possible, I like the colour scheme more, better handle and knobs and now get a Steez Reel Cover with the reel.

What's the difference between the spool in this and the spool in the Zillion TW HD? They are both MAG-Z boost so same spool?
slightly less capacity with the Steez spool. 100m of 16lb for the Zillion HD and 90M of 16lb for the Steez A II. so possibly a fraction lighter as well.

Re: Daiwa silver wolf

good for using up to 10lb braid, anything higher and you will start to run out of line capacity, I use mine on a L powered BFS rod and it will cast comfortably anything within that rods rating, though have added a set of hedgehog bfs bearings. I did try it on an m powered rod with 20lb braid but fou...

Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set

The catalina TW gear sets should work if you still want the clicking drag or the Catalina BJ gears if you dont want clicking drag.. these reels the gear sets are available from plat are are not micro gears. The black Ryoga has a magsealed bearing in the pinion so meets the policy of Daiwa not sellin...

Re: Bantam A

Yup, it’s a tank and was hoping as well for a reduction in the weight but that’s not the case. The weight is the price you pay for having round reel strength in a low profile reel. Nothing comes close to the core solid body for rigidity unless you go to a round reel like conquest or ryoga. The meta...

All the baitcasters listed should make great Barra rods. Can see a 610M and a 70H in my future.

Major Craft Days 360

For those that are fans or following major craft the new range of Days 360 rods are expected to be available in March/April.
from what i can make out following youtube videos and using google translate they use their 5G blanks which supposedly are lighter and more powerful.
