Re: Abu Garcia Revo Inshore Casting Reel

I own two and use them three or four times a week on the lagoons of east central Florida. Great reels. I have both spooled with 20# Power Pro.

Leader knot

I used to tie a bimini and a no name with braid and fluoro but I have eliminated the bimini by using a slim beauty knot. It's smaller and holds just as well if not better.

Sebile lures

Has anyone tried these for inshore fishing? If so, which ones, colors and how are your hooks holding up?

Re: Daiwa Certate

I own and use four of them three to four times a week in salt water. They are an excellent reel.

Re: What Knot?

I have used all of the above referenced knots and a couple of other (Bristol/bimini) but the one I have finally settled on is the slim beauty. It's a great knot.

Re: centrifugal vs magnetic

I have two REVO STX reels and two REVO Inshore reels. At first I was a little disappointed with the inshore because they have certrifugal brakes. Not to worry. I have one pin out on the rod I use to throw lighter lures and two pins out on the rod that I use for ½ oz and up lures. Distance is incredi...

Re: Revo Inshore

It is six pin. My first impression was not good, I prefer magnets, but it casts extremely well and the distance is as good as my STX. I have made casts into the wind with no problem so I am very pleased. The drag, by the way, is awesome. I had it cranked down on that turtle (about 40 pounds) and it ...

Revo Inshore

Picked up two on Tuesday and have used them twice now. I bought them to replace my STX's since the salt water was beginning to have an effect on the bearings in those reels. So far I am impressed. I have not had a backlast with either one yet so the six pin brake (two on) is working well and they ha...

Momoi Braid

Anyone using it? I'd like to try it in the 10 and 15# weights for inshore work (trout and reds).

Re: Blair Wiggins rod any good?

You won't break it but the handle is way too long.

Re: what to do with knot 50ft into spool of braid?

That's called a $5.00 knot. If you cut it out you lose $5.00 worth of line. I agree with the others, turn the line around.

Prop scar

I caught this 39" redfish yesterday and it put up the typical redfish fight. The, what I assume is a prop scar, was about six or seven inches long and almost an inch wide, half an inch deep. It was healing nicely and after some reviving the fish swam off strongly.

Re: sebile

I have been testing lures against each other this week with interesting results. Plus, it has been a tough week fishing for some reason. The lure that has done the best has been the floating Sebile Stick Shadd in amber. A month or two ago I had a banner day on spotter sea trout with the Sebile Kooli...

Re: 2008 Spinning Reel Trend

I am using 1000 and 1500 size reels in the winter with 8# PP to catch redfish. They work great. I would use them in the summer but with the low oxygen content in the water I use 2500 size reels with 15# PP in order to shorten the fight.

Re: Sebile Flatt Shad

I have a couple of their Koolie Minnows and the first day out I landed 21, 24 & 28" spotted sea trout. I'm impressed. I was not impressed with the price or cost of shipping though. I'm looking for a dealer.
