Re: BMF aka Revolver S by D.R.E.S.S.

Yup! We have two different approaches and I think it is my mistake to try to impose my view of what good-looking means. I did get the point through the pics that you wanted to show the handle itself and that's why you put it on the first reel available. I hope I didn't offend you with my comments. I...

I'm a geek: ;)

So, I better say try the handle on a more transformer looking reel by Shimano.

Re: 4 Days, Japan to Texas

Yea, FedEX is much faster, but more expensive, than EMS :| For 1-piece rods you have no EMS option, so you need to pay the extra money for FedEX. Well, an exception, I got a 4'8" 1-piece jigging rod shipped by EMS :P

Re: BMF aka Revolver S by D.R.E.S.S.

That is why choosing the appropriate reel is so important (I am talking about looks, not performance) . The handle itself is cool, but it is not good for a Calais, even if the colors matched (which don't). The style is not the same. The Calais is not a reel that reminds you of Star Wars, is it? It i...

Yup! Very beautiful lure, and not expensive considering it is a Vagabond...I bought two of them like 2 months ago, but I haven't been able to find the bleeding color.

Re: 4 Days, Japan to Texas

I do not know if Texas is further from Japan than Paris, but I got a rod in a record time of 3 days  EMS shipping rocks!

Re: Anyone use a Certate 2500R???

Papa, If you can find any reference to Certate rod, can you please post it here. Never heard about Certate rod, but I know that Daiwa UK and FR tend to have more variety than Daiwa US. I am so impressed with Certate reel, that I would not think twice before purchasing Certate rod. Sure! Here you ha...

Re: New Abu Fantasista for my stable

Wonderful combo!
Perfect color match between reel and rod. The Fantasista looks GREAT =D> I am still eyeing an orange one.

Re: Anyone use a Certate 2500R???

I had a Certate 2500R custom. I think dhuie said it all about the reel. In a few words that's my conclusion: "smooth, reliable, but rather heavy." I sold it when I was collecting funds for an Opus-1. You can even find Certate rods to match with the reel. I am not sure whether the rods are JDM or EDM...

I think the problem is that they do not match the colors and style of the reel. Maybe on a Zillion??

Pikes!

I just came back from a few-days trip in Warsaw. As usual in any of my trips, I went to visit local fishing stores to learn a little about their fishing tackle market. I saw (and bought!) many interesting lures, but the nicest ones I found were some pikes built by Salmo. I had never seen lures immit...
