What pound test do you usually use to fish for trout?
I've never been brave enough to venture into using 2lb test
like some of you might be using. 4 is the lowest I'd go and 6 max.
What do you guys use?

Keep at it. With that price of a package, I'm sure you have
something you enjoy casting all day for trout.

You can't go wrong with what you're doing. Instead of mepps, I prefer
Panther martins in the small size.

While the airrus rods look powerful for bass fishing and others, I don't think the larger butt section will be good as an ultralight rod. Some places I fish are high up in the mountain, the rivers dry up or
is really low during the Fall, and am sure it freezes over in the winter time.
I do see some trout trapped in shallow pools. do you think they just die
when frozen or they somehow survive like the frozen lobster thread?

They can probably point you in the right direction.
