Vintage 130 weight rod help

So I got this rod in a trade, and can't find any info on it whatsoever. I do know it's a 130-unlimited rod with varmac rs6h seat and mildrum roller guides. It came with 2 different butts...an aluminum aftco and a hardwood. There's no markings on the blank itself, and the wraps are perfect! Anyone th...

Re: Conquest 400F same as regular 300

I have the conquest 400 and it is the exact same size as my regular 300. same weight, line cap, etc...only a few more bearings. I use it for my big baits i.e. hudds, ragos, mattlures, plats, etc...

Re: quantum tour ed 1171PT or curado 201dhsv??

I have 2 of the quantum 1170's and I absolutly love them. Super smooth, fast retrieve, and when I tore them down for the anual cleaning I was suprised at how well built/simplistic the inner workings are. I guess I am the only one that says the quantum!!

Re: Best in-expensive crank baits?

I like the bomber cranks and have had good luck with them. They arent as durable as say a LC, but last quite a while. Another is the BPS XPS series. I was at BPS a few weeks ago, and they had alot of thier cranks on sale for 3-4 bucks a piece. Havent gotten to fish with them yet, but they do look pr...

Re: Fluorocarbon knots

I too use the palomar and yet to have loose a fish because of knot failure. I read somewhere that the palomar is the strongest knot for mono/flouro. I like it because you can tie it with your eyes closed and it is super strong...

Re: Package arrived today!

TMG...I already have several 7 foot casting rods; an older Kistler, a Shikari blank rod, etc. 6'8" fit in right between my two 6'6" MH rods and the 7'ers. Course, the month ain't over yet...might change my mind! :P You can never have to many 7 footers!! The only rod that I have that is under 7ft is...

Re: Package arrived today!

The 683c is a sweet rod, but I am spoiled when it comes to rods. I like em 7+ft. I picked up a 703c which is the same rod just 4" longer and it throws weightless senkos great. I am sure the 683 would be the same. Powell rods are awesome. And now that they have been reviewed on here, I am sure thier ...

Re: CRANKBAIT REEL

About the only thing that makes me say the Quantum Tour Edition is the 7:1 ratio lets burn them through cover and cover alot of water. Other than that, I feel it is better suited for a pitching/flipping reel. They are great/smooth/long casting reels, as I have 2 of them, but they are a little to hea...

Re: Weightless Senko Rod....

I am gonna have to say a Lamiglas XMG 50 EXC 722. It will throw a senko better than any rod I have owned. In fact, I sold all my Loomis's and fish Lamiglas. The 722 would be an awesome choice for you. I have it teamed up with my Alpha Ito, and another 722 teamed up with my pixy. I have another 722 o...

Is this a good one?

A woman goes into Wal-Mart to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. A Wal-Mart associate is standing there wearing dark shades. She says, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?...
