i've used shrink tubing for years but will probably switch to o-rings here soon. the issues i have with the shrink tubing is that it stretches out after catching a few fish. i carry a lighter in my bag so i can re-shrink the tubing.

it's not my dedicated jerkbait rod but i often use my spiral wrapped phenix k2 764 to fish jerkbaits. never had a problem.

i haven't weighed it yet but my phenix k2 715 and a steez has to be well under 10 oz

I don't think it is highly likely that someone will have both of those rods. I have a St Croix LES but not at that power. I also have several k2's but they are bait casters.

That being said. My K2s are my favorite rods!

davej, you're actually missing one: it's a variation of method #5 except that the middle finger is over the rod instead of under it. seems really strange to me as that grip only has the ring finger and the pinky holding the rod but at least two of the guys on major league fishing hold it that way (...
