Re: reel for light crankbaits
I am a huge fan of the Daiwa Alphas.
I have both the ito ai version and the normal purple version. They are excellent reels that can cast a crank extremely well.
They are made even better with D.R.'s wonderful drag and spool bearing upgrades.

Re: Carrots
Are there any other rods, not just cranking sticks, that are lighter than 3.2 ounces? I did a little research browsing the reviews and didn't have any that I found right away, but then again I didn't have much time to research........something called homework always gets in the way............ CMON ...
Re: Carrots
I'm glad everyone seems interested in the rods. When Ken told me that the Carrot Stix LTX were only going to be 3.2 ounces , I thought he was messing with me. Thats going to be one hell of a crankbait rod. Parabolic action with unbelievable weight. It is great that the two models will be coming out ...

Re: Icast Coverage
yes, I was refering to the Boyd Ducket series, not the Carrot Stix. Despite what the weight is, which I considered light on all three rod models, it sure beats the weight of fiberglass rods that have the similar action. No graphite rod that I know of has the same parabolic moderate action and keeps ...

Re: Icast Coverage
Tmike- I agree with the Hard Plastic best of show; I know some SEXY swimbaits from the likes of Lucky Craft and Black Dog Bait Co. that could have blown that crank out of the water I respect everyone's opinions about E21, and people can not like a rod for one reason or another, but I don't know what...

Re: Icast Coverage
It certainly is not just a bass brand- we have a 3-piece fly rod made from the Curran Technology, and we also have a 3-pc surf rod that won best of show saltwater rod category. As for now, I do not think we have an 8 footer, that is non flipping. We do have a 7'6 in the BD Classic Gold Series that i...

Re: Icast Coverage
I'm glad you approve Mr. Mhood..... Sorry, no 2-piece As of now there have been several specific SKU's that will be produced, and then if a retailer wants a specific custom made stick to stock their stores we can make whatever they want provided they order enough to make it worthwhile. We had a TON ...

Re: Icast Coverage
No- we should have the scandium implemented before next iCAST. Anyway, I'm surprised that it took soo long for someone to ask "why carrots" Basically it comes down the the geographical location of the rod blank making process. Scotland is where the blanks are developed, and there is a high concentra...

Re: Icast Coverage
Thanks for pointing that out. Boyd was obviously with Airrus, but has made the change over to E21. Yes, the implimentation of the scandium is currently in the butt caps and eventually other components. The rod blanks of each of the three models are as follows: edge- Filament wound but, multi-modulou...
