Re: ipt - 26 vs 29 real world difference...

Funny, this is just like the mountain bike 26in wheels versus 29er question.

Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?

My preference for Daiwa is mainly because of their magnetic braking system. Shimano is a close second and only because of the braking system and because they are constantly insisting that 'lefty' baitcaster users are a minority and can be ignored. Okuma is my third choice; I like that their reels ar...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

Dominant right hand which I like to use to control the rod. Lefty reels for me. ;)

The Premier shouldn't have that problem. It's supposed to have magnetic braking.

Re: Is Daiwa still making new Pixies?

I'm leaning towards the silver. If I'm going to upgrade I'll do the line guide, drag and spool bearings in installments but probably will leave the handle alone. Thanks for the responses guys.

Re: Kids tackle

The earlier the better. Kids normally don't care if they're using cheap combos and tackle but buy a cheap but good setup for your kid. It will save you a lot of headache dealing with line management problems and durability of some reels. Bring along with you a bagful of patience ;)

Re: Is Daiwa still making new Pixies?

I might leave it stock. The handle on the non-reds doesn't bother me because it looks the same as my TD Sol. The stock drag is also okay because I don't lock down my reel drags, anyway. Although if I am to have a reel supertuned, the Pixy would be it.

Re: Is Daiwa still making new Pixies?

reelblues, I've had Cal giving little nudges towards the dark side before but I've so far been able to resist but my strength against the force has been slowly ebbing :D

Raul, that may explain why the silver is usually sold for less than the other models.

Is Daiwa still making new Pixies?

So there is the '03 Limited Edition Orange Pixy and the '04 Limited Edition Yellow that I believe, because they are 'limited edition', aren't being made anymore. There is also the '05 Red one, of course. How about the Silver? What year did it first come out? And is Daiwa still making the red and sil...

Re: Anybody ever see this?

Thanks for refreshing my memory ... they say it's the second thing to go! First of all, they don't make it anymore so you're kind of out of luck. They used to sell the parts separately. I guess it's the Pixy for me then. Maybe next year but I'm very, very tempted right now. Was surprised when...

One more question: Are the spool and the brakes sold together or separately?

You just turn the magnet thingy.
This would turn a Conquest 50 into a NICE small plug reel.
I thought about getting this, but I got a 50S instead (with this)
Wow, that 51S is even better =P~ Thanks, iangler.
