Hello,
Can you help me with the drag washers sizes (od/id/thickness) for a Shimano Curado 151 DC? I need to replace them with carbontex washers. Thanks!

Antares DC MD drag washers size
Hello,
Does anyone know the Antares DC MD XG drag washers size - I'm talking about the two dartainium washers, the black ones. I would like to replace them with Carbontex, as the factory ones get sticky when tightening up the drag.
Thanks,
AZ

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Thanks for the confirmation, I heard lots of good things about the Lexa, that's why I got one. Looking forward to use it, really... but my custom rod is far from being ready.

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
I just got the Daiwa Lexa 300HL and already upgraded it with the 3 missing bearings. Also opened it, cleaned and greased with ZPI F-0 Medium grease. It looks like a solid low pro reel, there's enough weight in the main gear and the handle shaft... I'll see how it does with the Deps 250 once I get th...

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Okuma Komodo and Quantum Exo also look OK as far as line capacity is concerned. Although the Komodo has stainles steel gears, which I think might be an advantage in the long term. The BB2 is a slipper but I don't know much about durability. I was split between 7.1:1 and 6.3:1 gear ratios eventually ...

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
Thanks for the heads up. I will upgrade it just like you say... My Tatulas have ceramic airs in them and they can literally put out almost half a spool with a 1 oz. topwater.

Re: Building a new swimbait rod... got a few questions
That's a good idea as well, but there aren't too many shops that sell swimbait rods around here - in Europe, Romania. Actually there are none... and the custom builders I know about you could count them on the fingers of one hand: one, two. That's it. One lives in the same town with me so I'm buildi...

Re: Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
I would like a lighter reel such as Tatula but I don't know if it will handle 8 to 10" lures ok. So I guess the Lexa 300 it is. What's a CCC bearing? I wish I could find it at a more discounted price because shipping from the U.S. to Europe is almost invariably 38-40 dollars. I will try to keep the ...

Low profile swimbait reel suggestions?
I don't like round profile reels, never owned anything after selling my Morrum AE74 ZPI... I am building a rod for fishing with 3 to 6.5 oz baits such as the DRT Klash, the Slide Swimmer 175 and 250. I narrowed the search down to Daiwa Lexa 300HL and, maybe, a JDM Tatula HD Custom 150-HL. Lexa gets ...

Re: Building a new swimbait rod... got a few questions
Thanks Mattman for the very good ideas, I will definitely take all of them in consideration. You see, he is one of the very few rod builders around here in Romania and we were discussing every option and aspect together. He also advised against under wrap. Also, I don't know how many spiral wrapped ...

Building a new swimbait rod... got a few questions
The builder is still waiting for the components to arrive so I have some time to figure out some things. First, which length for the rear grip would be most comfy? I'd be throwing baits between 3 and 6 oz. mostly. I was thinking about 13.5” length starting from the end of the reel seat to the back e...

Re: Good swimbait rod?
OK, will do that. Other already did and the blank launches 11 oz. without any problem - confirmed by Rodhouse (and NFC) field tests. http://www.rodhouse.fr/en/blanks-de-7-6-et-plus/3367-swb-808-1-im-swin-bait-3290000008381.html Other ppl from Japan cut it down to 7'4'' (from the tip also) and the bl...

Re: Good swimbait rod?
Blank only: North Fork Composites SWB 808-1 (IM). I think this might be the best swim bait blank money can buy... considering it's power to weight ratio.

Re: Good swimbait rod?
Didn't know that, it should be interesting. The JDM is also heading more towards big bait rods... Legit Design will come out with some special swimbait rods. The more the merrier.

Re: Good swimbait rod?
Case closed for now: I just received the Northfork SWB 808-1 in IM graphite. The blank is deceivingly light yet spectacularly powerful. Kudos to NFC for putting such great product and to http://www.rodhouse.fr for making it available on this side of the big pond.
