Re: A question for the oldies (Berkley rod ad of the 90's)

I think it is a rod of the end of the 80's or beginning of the 90's.

In those same years Berkley published another ad where they compared the graphite content of various rods, including the Shimano Magnumlite Fightin' Rod (the coolest rods of the time).

Yep, the Rhino is by Zebco.
This one was Berkley's.
Did not have a clear tip, it was black and chartreuse.

A question for the oldies (Berkley rod ad of the 90's)

Any of you guys remember the name of the (black and chartreuse) Berkley rod that appeared in a Berkley ad as the world's strongest, and the ad said it smashed an Ugly Stik in a tag of war?

Re: Extreme Spinning Reel Field Testing

The War of Middleweights No holds barred extreme field testing of four 4000 sized spinning reel against the tackle busting Mekong Giant Catfish. When you go to war, no matter how prepared you are, you are not bullet-proof. So, this is the report of an abuse: four 4000 sized spinning reel, with crank...

Re: Carbon Alloys? Calling for a test.

My answer to tywithay would have been generically that. I.e. despite the fact that carbon alloys can result in very rigid frames, the reality is that none of the"carbon alloys" used for reels are actually as rigid as metal.
