Best 3/4 spook rod I've ever used is my st croix avid-x 7' med/fast, it's rated 1/4-5/8 but it flings a 3/4oz bait like no one's business, it's no longer made though but I imagine the new avid series and maybe a legend would be similar.

Just picked up a Yozuri 3dr-x(f) floating minnow, should work great on my shallow Florida lakes for swimming over and ripping out of grass. Seems like typical yozuri high bang for the buck at $8

Incidental catches while largemouth bass fishing:
Crappie, bluegill, rock bass, white bass, walleye, northern pike, musky, tiger musky, drum, dogfish/mudfish, catfish, gar, common carp, mayan cichlid, tilapia, peacock bass, bullfrog, alligator - hooked and played but not boated.

About 3 years ago, bank fishing around around lots of trees and bushes I caught a branch on my backcast and poof, she done. This was right after I arrived to the spot after a fairly long hike and was the only rod I brought, ay caramba!
