Re: Soft tackle bags
Thats totally different...there is a differnce between a 30 dollar rod from walmart and a quantum PT. a bag is a bag.... I'd have to disagree with you there FP. If money is of concern, then stop right here, but if you want FUNCTION and PERFORMANCE, you'll find that the best tackle bag on he market ...

I've used quite a few scents. Hot Sauce seems to work the best the last few seasons. I'm going to try the "Gravy" this year...

Re: Tackles for popping GT??
Pete,
I just re-read your initial post and realized that you are looking for a good "spinning" reel, not a baitcasting reel. The Avet reels are not spinning reels. Sorry about that....

Re: Tackles for popping GT??
Yes, they are very smooth. The company has been around for many years, but just began their reel venture a couple of years ago. Initially, their first reels, the LX and JX had some minor problems, but they stodd behind their product, improved it and now have a very impressive line of lever-drag, sal...

Re: Tackles for popping GT??
Try taking a look at the Graphite USA rods matched with an Avet reel. The Avet reels have been able to hold an amazing amount of line and produces an even more amazing amount of drag pressure. I've seen as high as 23 pounds of drag! The GUSA rods are incredible! 100% graphite and thin as can be. I h...

Re: 2 lb test fishing line for trout
I haven't personally done a formal test with the Perfexion, but I do notice that it has a decent toughness compared to it's diameter and stretch. I think TT did a review on the 2lb some time back....

Hahaha, I knew someone might ask me that.... Okay, Brookie, I'll tell YOU and only YOU. Do not share this information with anyone you know or come in contact with! :P There's a somewhat remote lake I fish 3-4 times a year in the Eastern Sierra called Lundy Lake. You may have heard of it. Just a coup...

Re: Best Tackle Bag to buy?
Hi Nitro, The prototype of the BassKing ProAm was just a smaller version of the Albackore II without a cooler and backpack straps. Unfortunately, it did not get a lot of attention at the ICAST industry show. Fortunately, it was just a prototype and I do not have hundreds in my inventory. :) In any c...

Re: Last year's best and this year's goals
Last season, I caught:
Albacore: 42 lbs
Bluefin: 67 lbs
Yellowfin: none
Yellowtail: 19 lbs
Salmon: 11 lbs
White Sea Bass: 23 lbs
Trout: 4.5 lbs
Bass: 5.75 lbs
Steelhead: none
This year, I'm hoping for an 80+ bluefin and a 6+ trout!
