I will have a full review on this kayak as soon as we get the green light.

Did you get the green light?

Re: Native Slayer 14.5

Thanks Jerry,
Hobie looks interesting but the sticker price is what turned me off….
If you have experience with other brands, which one would you pick between Cuda and Slayer?

NuCanoe Frontier 12

This is my third option for my new fishing kayak (1.Slayer 2.Cuda 3. Frontier). I understand that this is hybrid, but the main attraction is stability and 360 deg captain seat - based just on these attributes it seems it would be an excellent fishing platform. I would like to hear your experience wi...

Native Slayer 14.5

I am thinking about purchasing this kayak but there is no local dealer where I can see it/try it on the water. I would like to hear your experience with this kayak – especially from the (non- sponsored) owners. I will be using it 50% on a smaller lakes and other 50% on the Great Lakes, predominantly...

Re: JDM Round Reels

Cj, since you mention Luna 103 – did you do any other upgrades?
I am particularly interested in functional upgrades such as spool for light baits.

Re: Good looking spool pin pliers

Bronze,

I guess I don’t need pliers anymore (just bought one), but interested to hear about your “shipping to CAN” policy – just for the future reference
Thanks
-if you prefer pm that is fine

Re: JDM Tackle Storage & Bags

Thanks ztc.

Now I am intrigued about Shimano belt – do you have any pics?
I am sure that JP market has more belts/options, because majority of people are no boaters.
Anybody has experience with WFO?

Re: JDM Tackle Storage & Bags

Found it:
WFO
http://www.tackledirect.com/wfo-809-tre ... e-bag.html
although they want $40 to ship it to CAN :(

and another one interesting at least:
WadeAid
https://www.linkpointcart.net/cgi-bin/cart.cgi
This one looks simple and comfortable; to CAN probably over $100

Re: JDM Tackle Storage & Bags

I am wading Great Lakes most of the time and interested into some belt/harness that has one or two rod holders – please let me know if anybody knows about good intelligent JP product that would allow me to take an extra rod or two. There was an US product like that that even Cabelas carried a couple...

Re: What's a Far Cast

^^ ^ Agree! And more practical fw fishing casts 100+yds: -Spinning reel (Daiwa with ABS spool) 2500 or 3000 on a long, rather stiff rod (8-14’) -Braided line 10-15lb -Jigging spoon or regular slender spoon (Viking, LJ Krocodile, Toby ) with single hook instead of treble, 3/4oz or heavier -good casti...

Re: 4# mono comparison

2lb - YoZuri Ultra Soft makes it BUT as mentioned above for other YZ lines it is way too thick to be called 2lb, at 0.21mm diameter is more comparable to 6-7lb line from other guys. Tectan would probably be the best bet. Among UL lines I really liked Evergreen Bass Sail Magic Hard (I think that is t...

Re: 4# mono comparison

Great line, but at 0.24mm is far cry from being thin “4 pound class” or ultralight. If you compare diameters, you will see that majority of other brands, at approximately same diameter (0.24 or 0.25 mm) have labeled 8lb or 10lb strength. YZh is a great performing line, but calling their 0.24mm/ 10lb...

Re: The Re-REVOlution Begins, First Look at the 2013 Revo

Yes, that crossed my mind but didn’t think that wider spool would have more pros than cons…interesting. I remember reading here (from ROG if I am not mistaken) about some old reel (ABU?) which had line guide completely flipped up and away from line during the cast. To this day that seems the most lo...
