Re: What's your rod lineup for this year
If there is anyone which owns a Megabass Destroyer P5 7'2 Windbuster, I was hoping you might help me out with my concern about the size of the guides on the rod, and whether you feel a double-uni knot would or wouldn't have any issues passing through the guides without major headaches. I have some d...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
can anyone with hands on experience with the NRX 901 and 902 explain which applications they are using for each. I was hoping to get more experience with early season hair jigs for smallmouth, but was always afraid that the length in addition to the light power would make the dragging experience ove...

Re: Kistler vs Dobyns
I am considering acquiring another grass pitching rod for relatively short, underhand pitches of 1/2 & 3/4 oz. weighted texas rigs in fairly dense milfoil in depths generally 6 to 10 feet. I'm used to a St Croix Premier 7'0 Heavy, fast casting rod, which is kind of a broom stick, but does the job we...

Re: New Poison Adrena
Rodster14 or other 7'2H owner - after reading through many pages of this thread I feel I will be disappointed in the 7'2 H Adrena that will be delivered to me tomorrow. I was intending to use this rod for pitching 1/2 oz & 3/4 oz texas rigs in @ 7-9 ft of fairly dense milfoil weed. It will be my fir...

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS
Has anyone yet clarified the status with the guides on this 7'6 M/ML spinning rod? I have some issues that make it especially harder on me as I get into more complicated knots, which rely more on dexterity of the fingers. And considering that I've happily (and finally) switched over entirely from st...

Re: Shimano Expride 7'2" H or 7'3" ExtraHeavy?
I've had several occasions to use the 7'3" Xtra Heavy and I'm glad I chose this rod. When the rod got delivered my initial impression was two-fold - Wow, how light it was to hold, and boy, that blank gets pretty skinny in that final climb approaching the eye at the tip!!! Never did get to throwing a...

Re: Shimano Expride 7'2" H or 7'3" ExtraHeavy?
Thanks guys for the help - your comments were all helpful! I just pulled the trigger on the XH. These Exprides don't last very long once they do come back into stock! I had also heard somewhere a while back that the heavy did have a bit softer tip than the XH. Without too much weed I've recently lea...

Shimano Expride 7'2" H or 7'3" ExtraHeavy?
I enjoy pitching the grass at Candlewood Lake in CT during the summer month, . (fairly dense milfoil that grows out till @ 14 feet, but to just below the surface in @6-9 ft.) Normally, I'll fish 1/2 oz @ early summer and move up to 3/4 oz, then 1 oz. by end of summer. I'm wondering if anyone has an ...

Re: anyone fish a Dobyns 735C??
Thanx for passing that on. I couldn't locate any reviews. Seems pretty solid & because the review makes a point of questioning whether it should be rated as Heavy instead of MH, that just gives me a bit more confidence that it will handle the rocky bottom ok.

anyone fish a Dobyns 735C??
I'm about to pull the trigger on this rod sight unseen to use for bottom contact used in the Biffle "bottom banging" technique with swing head jigs, and was hoping someone who fishes the rod could comment if they felt it would be a suitable rod for that purpose, throwing 1/2 and 3/4 weighted swing h...

Re: Bifflehead Rod
been studying up on a smart purchase for swing head jigging, but uncertain as to how much swinghead weight might be required to maintain bottom contact at @ 20-24 ft. for summertime smallies on dropoffs of humps, etc.? If its 3/4oz then I need a rod that can cover that - would be simpler if only req...

Loomis NRX 872S - 7'3" M (XFAST action) spinning rod
Was looking to acquire my first NRX rod to experience the sensitivity promised for the type of fishing I already enjoy doing, but not sure whether its an appropriate choice. I drag a 1/4 oz. mojo rig around most of the year on hard bottom and in weed and thru weed edges. (thats why I like the somewh...
