Re: Megabass levante discontinued?

The expride isnt even in the same price range. Now compare the gen 1 zodias to the levante. Very Close. Both models have great actions, and look great. I think the Levante is a tad more sensitive. I personally own a Zodias 7'2" MH, gen 1 Levante flatside special, and a gen 2 Jerkbait special. I als...

Re: Curado 200e7 or sv103

Yeah, I got rid of it. I kind of wish I kept it but I never used it and everything else I have is daiwa. I did buy a scorpion 1001xt recently and it feels like it's going to be a nice reel. Haven't fished it yet but I got a rod for it now and might take it out Friday. There is a curado 51e in the cl...

Re: Best Megabass Topwater rods?

Is the 2014 elseil the "big taper" model? If so, how do you like it with the medium fast taper vs the regular taper of the x7? Thanks No. The big taper is a previous Evo model, I haven't fished that one. The medium fast taper is different the the regular of the X7. If you include the whole range of...

Re: Best Megabass Topwater rods?

The Elseil models handle topwater and jerkbaits very well (along with other techniques too). Sweet spot is 3/8 to 1/2 lures, but I’ve used the 1/4 oz pop-X with no problems. The Diablo models (like a Diablo Fast move) are good, I use a whopper plopped regularly with one. I’m sure that a one ten sti...

Re: Ss sv spool options

I've used the Steez LTD 105 in my SS SV. It was about the same as it was in the Steez LTD. I ended up using mine for finesse and have a Ray's DIY in it with stronger magnets from an IS73. The SS SV spool and magnets live in the IS73 urban camo for a future build. I might have to try this. I have an...

I’ve run the zpi M spool in the ss Sv. Right on the ragged edge of blowing up on every full cast with the brakes on max. If I had the wind to my back is was great but a slight shift and I was picking a bird’s nest.
Thanks for the info. Don't think I'll be putting the m in the SS sv lol

Just checked my reel. It is in fact the 103 spool with the red inductor. I don’t find it too out of control but I do use it mostly for Pop-Max’s which I would consider a very castable bait.
I have the same spool so I'll give that one a try then. Thanks

Re: Ss sv spool options

In my experience it is the spool that is over braked. I swapped mine out for a Steez 103 spool and noticed a substantial increase in casting performance. Mostly regarding pure distance. Thanks. Was that the steez 103 spool r+ spool? If so, was it wild or did it still have good control while increas...

Ss sv spool options

I was just curious if anyone has tried a SS SV with a Zpi nrc001m spool, steez 103 r+, or steel limited 105sv spool? I keep reading about the SS sv being over braked but not sure if it's the spool, magnets, or both.

Re: Alphas sv105 vs Alphas ct sv

Your going to get a little more finesse capability. You would be better off putting one of your cosugi works spools in one of your sv105 reels and save your self the money. You already have a pixy and a alphas air stream custom for the light stuff. Definitely. I didn't explain my reason but i was a...

I feel the CT is a smoother retrieving reel. SV105 itself was a very smooth reel but the CT just seems cleaner. The spool definitely starts up a heck of a lot quicker than the 105, too. I like both reels for different things personally.
Thanks. I think I just like the look of the CT better.
