Re: 23 Exist SF (Super Finesse)

I'm on the fence with this and the vanquish. I heard this reel is very similar to it except the cost. Wanna get it for ul fishing panfish and maybe super finesse bass fishing.

Re: Gamakatsu Luxxe Avenge

Haven't been able to get out for bass with it but used it for crappie fishing. So far first impressions are that they are definitely sensitive. Never used a nrx rods so I can't compared them to that but on par with my orochi rod. Just bought a new car that seats don't recline so that blank coming ou...

Re: Gamakatsu Luxxe Avenge

Decided to take the gamble and picked up the 6'6 light and 7Mh. They look like nice rods. Probably won't be able to fish them this season since salmon fishing as picked up. They are quite light and the purple looks nice. A couple of things to keep in mind though. Although TW says the 6'6 is a light,...

Shimano vanford 1000 bearing size?

Hey guys so my Vanford 1000 line roller bearing has gone bad. I know now that your not suppose to oil it but unfortunately within 1 month of using it when I got the reel the bearing went bad. Didn't know that back then so I did put a drop of oil into it which did help it but now its completely shot....

Re: Sufix 131 G-Core Braided Line

Only 1 season with it so far, currently have 10lb on a vanford. I got lazy one trip with crappie fishing and decided to use straight braid. Did not land a single crappie, then again crappie fishing at that place isn't what it used to be due to overharvesting but caught plenty of pike and surprisingl...

Re: 10lb braid on metanium?

On bfs the lowest I went was 1lb nano fil. Did have some issue with it sliding into the spool but that wasn't the main reason why I took it off. The biggest issue was line snapping on a cast even when I softly casted it. Had 5lb power pro the longest and it wasn't bad either. On a traditional baitca...

Re: Kistler series reels

That is very interesting. Heard those old bionic reels were good value. For the price of the kistler I'm hoping for improvements at least in terms of quality. They even have shallow spools for them so it seems they are somewhat invested in them. Hopefully its not another Fitzgerald stunner. It seems...

Kistler series reels

Kistler is having a great sale right now and I'm curious if anyone's bought their reels. Normally I'm a shimano guy but I do like to dwell on other brands sometimes. They don't look anything special, but I was wondering if I can get anyone's input on them who have used or handle them. I've been cons...

Re: Zalts nylon monofilament

I tried their fluorocarbon and liked it quite a bit. Didn't' feel like tatsu or but it didn't feel cheap either. If I could get it locally I love to buy more. I believe its precision wound or whatever it is and it has a sticker half way telling you that your are half way into the spool which is alwa...

Re: worth the trade

Thanks for replying man. I got some time to decide so I'll be thinking about it for a bit. Yes it is a weird trade as I'm baitcaster guy and he just wants to get more spinning rods. I did call some of the bait shops that carried that line up back in the day to see what their experience were and it s...

worth the trade

Hi guys, I've been asking around for this with no success unfortunately, but was hoping if anyone here can answer this question. So I've been offered a trade that I am considering. It will be a st croix legend elite spinning for a possibly the original megabass destroyer evoluzions F5. 1/2 68 Xti di...

Re: 13 Fishing Jabber Jaw vs 6th Sense Axis

Update on my experience with the two. I'm definitely liking the jabber jaw more. Like I said before the 6th sense has a really wide wobble. In my opinion WAY too wide. The jabber jaw has more like the traditional squarebill wobble. I've thrown the 6th sense now for early spring and summer and only m...

Re: Daiwa AGS Guides

I recently broke my st croix legend xtreme 3rd eye and they were able to send me a ags guide! Spoke to a lady and she had one shipped to me for $15. I then had one of my coworkers put it on for me. Maybe you could give St Croix a call?

Re: Need help on a new reel

Good to know. I'll do some experimenting to see how it goes for me. Played with it for a bit with the vanford and it isn't too bad at the moment.

Re: Need help on a new reel

Is the bearing kit worth the upgrade? If it is, is it hard to install it?
