Re: Stradic CI4+ or Soare CI4+?

I have both. The light Soare is very nice, but the handle does not fold like the stradic does. You do get a few more ball bearings in the Soare. Being a JDM head myself and owning almost exclusively JDM reels, I have come to the conclusion that you will have to service your own reels; If you care en...

First couple outings with 610L Graphiteleader Corto 18

Turned onto this rod by Alphahawk. What Can I say about this rod? You can feel everything. I figured the best way to test this rod was to hit one of the most pressured lakes in the area, and I was not disappointed. Where I live, Sauger and Walleye are extremely difficult to catch from shore; they ar...

Re: 2019 Shimano Vanquish; 1000SSSPG or 2000SSS?

I got the Normal 2500HGS, not the C2500 version. I love the reel. It is on a 85/TZ Blue Current Rod, so I felt the larger spool might help with casting. I'll probably be picking up a 2000HGS size soon, I'll drop in to post about it when I do.

Re: BFS Fluoro vs Braid Pros and Cons

I throw 4lb and 5lb Sunline Sniper FC on my BFS casting setups with no problems.

Re: 2019 Shimano Vanquish; 1000SSSPG or 2000SSS?

Considering I really wanted to build a UL jigging set up with a PG reel, I have decided to go with the 2017 Shimano Soare Ci4+ 2000SSPG. Seems like a heck of a reel for the price.

Re: 2019 Shimano Vanquish; 1000SSSPG or 2000SSS?

I think reel retrieve speed and handle length are sometimes more important in practice than given credit for. Slow reels in running water are IMO less useful than quick ones, especially if chasing trout. It's easier to keep up with a drifting lure and pick up slack with a faster reel. Benefits migh...

Re: 2019 Shimano Vanquish; 1000SSSPG or 2000SSS?

I don’t own a Vanquish. But I do own a 2018 Corto.....and I have it paired with a 1003 Luvias. It is a true finesse setup. The low ratio reel with a jig is a game changer. If you don’t already have an UL setup with a low ratio reel I highly recommend it. Regards Hello Randy, Your videos are excelle...

2019 Shimano Vanquish; 1000SSSPG or 2000SSS?

I am in the market for two of the New Shimano Vanquish Reels. I am already purchasing the C2500HGS, this is settled. However, I am building an UL Jig oriented set up. I managed to pick up one of the Olympic Graphiteleader Corto 6102L's and I want to pair it with either a 1000PGSSS or a 2000SSS. I wi...

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?

I Paired my Conquest BFS with a Tenryu 5'6L RayZ and I have been a happy man. Despite its length, I can still cannon lures almost anywhere I want on a lake.

Re: BFS Casting Motion - why not a full on 'whip'?

Hello, I am a BFS fisherman who has pondered the casting form and its differences in regards to conventional size rods and reels. Here is my take on it. I cast in a variety of ways based on several circumstances. Lets talk specifically of just a plain distance cast. I throw almost exclusively 1/8 Oz...
