Re: Ned Rig CASTING only

You should really try your stock spool pixy airy red, the only thing I would upgrade is carbon fiber smooth drag.

Re: Ned Rig CASTING only

What are you casting your NedRig with ( setup) and how light are you going? What line size are you using to nedRig with casting equipment or are you using braid? My idea was to use a pixy Airy red Spool in a pixy variant to nedRig with but that spool doesn't lend itself to such light techniques I h...

Re: Shimano Senilite Rod

Shimano sensilite? Casting or spinning? I was gonna buy casting but end up getting spinning version to test out for crappie fishing. It is pretty reasonable for price point light and sensitive enough. I guess you are looking for casting version, if you plan for BFS with it, you might be disappointed...

Re: In the market for UL/Finesse Spinning reel.

Thanks, I end up with 1000D legalis instead. I don’t care much of using spinning for bass anyway and I don’t think spending money on one piece handle would gain a lot in crappies fishing. I still want that Tatula LT for the super light weight. As spec concern seem like 1000 and 2000 have same frame ...

In the market for UL/Finesse Spinning reel.

Okay, I’m going to buy a spinning reel but can’t decide which size is the best. The main purpose of this reel is UL fishing for crappies and bluegill pair with Daiwa Presso 5’6. Once a while I might use this reel for finesse bass fishing pair with crucial 6’8 M/Xf. I’m looking for something budgetin...

Re: SS SV 105XH Question

First of, I don’t have neither reels, but I do have Alphas SV 105 and aldebaran mg7. I prefer my aldebaran over alphas in every techniques and I use both the same plus much more on aldebaran. I feel Alphas is so fragile and only suitable for finesse stuffs (just me). You can drop shimano Brenious 7....

Working on my Daiwa Pixy and Daiwa alphas air.

So I have decided to upgrade the felt drag on pixy to smooth drag(got a run from either big cat or big bass and stock drag is so jerky and cannot hold the fight) in the mean time changing line guide and change stock bearing to micro bearing from Alphas Air. On Alphas Air I will swap new gear (5.8 ra...

Re: Shimano SLX users...

I bought SLX long time ago when it first released and when I saw it compare to other small reels. In fact I bought it because I don’t wanna take my bantam on my float tube. I can say it is a nice reel for it price but to compare with all Curado I have, still not there yet. I might buy the MGL one, t...

Re: Daiwa asc spools now for sale

Isn’t the ASC spool 32mm? Pixy is 31mm correct? Add... whoa 😮 135 for spool that almost the cost of my pixy. No, it's 31mm as well. That's why all the pixy owners got so excited. There are pictures on this forum from people who fitted them into pixies right off the bat. Thanks, I might have to thin...

I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but what does this spool weigh? Also, what is going on the the bearing/bearing houseing? Never seen one like that on a Daiwa spool.

My alphas air come with this type bearing as well, micro bearing with sleeve on both side , spool/palm side plate.

Re: Need opinions upgrade daiwa alphas air bearing.

Pretty sure alphas air comes with quality stock bearings, but i've never seen em so i dunno. If its just stock bearings you'd get inside a pixy, etc, then yes, Air BFS are great, especially for the ultra light stuff. Air BFS are metal so they're nowhere near as noisy as the ray studio ones. Alphas ...

Need opinions upgrade daiwa alphas air bearing.

I’m thinking of upgrade stock micro bearing to BFS air bearing, will I see any different in casting? I normally use 1.5gram jig head with 1gram crappie plastic and got about 50’ with no wind. Another question is will hedgehog bfs air bearing make some noise like Ray’s bearing on my Pixy?
