Concept TXZ
Hello, I have fished my new TXZ twice and I am trying to get this reel dialed in. I have a couple of questions.... 1. What is the optimum amount of line on the spool using 20-30 lb braid? I have heard varying storied of these reel performing better when they have a little less line on them? Do you f...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Special thanks to Bantam for taking the time to respond to my issue. I just fished the reel yesterday and worked great. But I have to be honest, that Chronarch HG I bought pairs very well with my Laguna rod. I can cast 1/8 jigs with small 3 inch swim baits further than I can with that DC reel. It's ...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Update,
I tied a lug nut to an old rod, and casted this again after it set since Easter and reel works again. Go figure?
Best regards,

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Thank you Bantam1 for your support. I have been buying Shimano products since I bought my first Castaic in 1993. I really like the Scorpion reel. I would buy a Chronarch G DC with the IDC-5, if you made it. I don't wish anyone here ill feelings. I just wanted to find a reputable place to buy parts n...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
There is always that one guy who is "smarter" than everyone else and tries to prove it.
I bought a new Chronarch HG yesterday to replace that one for that rod. Done here.
Thank you for the few that actually answered my question rather than lecture me

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Shimano Fan. I appreciate your response and commercial for ShimanoUSA. I knew the risks. I don't expect Shimano USA to repair it either. I was merely searching for information on where to look for parts to purchase. It's a 280.00 and not the end of the world. I can strip the interchangeable parts to...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
That was one hell of a reel while i lasted. I noticed on the first cast yesterday when WHAM bird's nest. Shimano needs to come out with a US Version of a Curado with the IDC 5.

Re: Steez A revisited...
Do you guys feel the A TW would be a good option for Saltwater Wade fishing on the Texas Coast? I mainly fish a 6' 6" Med Light fast action rod with a 1/16 to 1/2 lure weight "Laguna Latis Stick". I mainly fish plastics with 1/16 oz to 1/4 jug heads. If so which spool? You guys lost me with all the ...

Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Hello all, I have researched everywhere which is why I am posting. The braking system on my Scorpion DC just stopped working. I have taken it apart, cleaned it with alcohol and a cotton swab. Nothing. I use it for inshore saltwater fishing on the Texas Coast. I have never dunked it or had it in the ...

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)
Thank you Dave. I played and played with it at the local park pond before I took it out. I am sure my problem is a little mechanics too. But the Scorpion I have on a 6' 6"" ML rod was casting 3/8 ounce shallow running minnows a long way. Far enough for me anyway. The "whine" is different. I found in...

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)
Can someone give me a suggestion of how far you spool the line on the Curado/Scorpion DC reels? I filled it first to the bevel and it seemed to fluff very bad. I now have about 1/16 or 2 mm from the bottom edge of the bevel using 45lb Fins 40g braid. This does however has a mono equivalent diameter ...
