Re: Daiwa Steez 661mfb-sv werewolf

I had the werewolf and loved it when I had it but it's not a stout rod at all and it bends easy. I used it for 1/4oz jigs and even crankbaits. Probably one of the most sensitive rods I used but I generally did not throw finesse stuff as much.

Re: 18' Steez Type-2 or 16' Vanquish C2500xxx

Are there any differences between the 17 and 18 models with the Steez lineup? I lost my handle on my old Steez spinning reel and considering the cost it might be worth it to just get a new reel.

Re: SLP Works Steez SV TW

This might be a good opportunity to give one a shot. I did ask to see if selecting the 8,1:1 ratio if it still has the purple accents on the reel. We will see what Plat says.

Re: Anybody know of any future additions to Point Blank?

POINT Blank is doing fine. We have a lot of competition at the top end but "the few" at the top are quickly learning that POINT Blank is truly a different animal with a lot going for it. We have just approved an 8ft model for production that we feel will make a good "big crank" ...

Re: Sanded vs Unsanded K2's

This is the only blank from the K2 series I haven't seen sanded yet. The 714 or the 684 for e.g. is more powerfull than the unsanded, the 683 the same, the 736 and 715 felt almost the same in power, I'm just getting the 765 to see that for myself as well. (P.S. the sanded ones I've got in 714, 684 ...

Re: Phoenix K2 714 blank

I use my 736 K2 for the same aplication with mostly 3/8 oz tungsten weights and craws of some sort and beaver style baits and absolutely love it. I replaced my NRX 873 with it and it put the NRX to shame balance wise and sensitivity wise. A Steez balances perfect on it. Just another option if you w...

Re: Phoenix K2 714 blank

I will echo what everyone else has said. The 714 will be too light for what you are looking to do. The 715 is a lot like the 844 with maybe a little more stiff tip. For jigs, light carolina, or heavier t-rigs that 715 is hard to beat. The 714 I uses for 1/4 oz texas rigs and jerkbaits. I actually re...
