This is the only blank from the K2 series I haven't seen sanded yet. I use my 736 K2 for the same aplication with mostly 3/8 oz tungsten weights and craws of some sort and beaver style baits and absolutely love it. I will echo what everyone else has said. The 714 will be too light for what you are looking to do. The 715 is a lot like the 844 with maybe a little more stiff tip.
