Re: Old School GLX (pre 2012) vs. Today's Rods

the one thing i really like about today's rods is the actions are available in longer lengths than back in the day eg. you can get 7'5, 7'6 and even the new IMX Pro has a 7'7 jwr rod back then 7 foot was as long as they came. Not true at all. Many of the older recoil GLX Rods were made in 7’3 a s 7...

Re: Shimano reel names

Although I think Vanford is a weird name for a spinning reel, I hope they are not eliminating the 'Stradic' name for it. That would be a huge mistake. Everyone knows what a stradic is and they scream quality. It would be like Aunt Jemima changing its syrup name after 130 years.. oh crap wait... lol

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

I am new to Muskie fishing, picked up my first muskie rod, a St. croix Premier. But i quickly realized that they are HUGE in the musky world. They have 5 muskie rod series, which is a lot. Triumph Mojo Premier Legend Tournament Legend Elite and the upper ones are super popular. Especially the LT ser...

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods

I like a 3000 size shimano spinner on my 7'5 medium powered rod.

i think a 4000 would be way too bulky

Re: JDM Shimano vs USDM Gloomis Comparisons

for one thing, the USDM G. Loomis rods will all have hook keepers. I dont think any of the JDM shimano rods do.

that would drive me crazy, to me, buying a rod without a built in hook keeper is like buying a car without cruise control. :D

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

maybe its payback because the Daiwa ballistic spinning reel is a carbon copy of the Ci4+, same handle, color scheme and everything

I have a couple of old school Calcutta 100DC 5.8:1 reels. I added the longer 200/250 handles to them...

Re: Shimano and G.Loomis Launch Limited Edition Bantam MGL & IMX-Pro Combos

take my money please!

as amazing as this combo is for the price, I am kind of thinking it might have been better to pair the bantam up with one of the newer more 'all around' MBR IMX Pro's like an 843c or 903c would it not?
