Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
We do not have parts for the JDM models here in the US. We can get them but the time varies for when they will show up unless you want to pay for the air freight to get it here. They usually pack it with an existing order, so they could come in a few weeks, or 4 months. This all depends on when the...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Right I only work for a repair shop that is a factory authorized service center for Shimano, Daiwa, Okuma, Penn, Lew's, Abu, Zebco, Quantum, and other brands our shop services daily. I represent only my own opinions, and do NOT represent any of the brands I service daily. I thought I have made this ...

Re: Shimano recommended gear grease CU150 DC
ACE-0 other part number is RD16394. I'll have to email the CS team and make sure they use the list they were provided with the grease part numbers. We have some new people and it seems I need to jog their memory... Uh oh! The hammer comes down! Get 'em Bantam1! I will bring this up at our shop and ...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
There is a guy on here, Bantam, who can really help. He replies pretty fast and it impresses me that Shimano has someone on here that helpful. He deals with some angry people that talk all kinds of trash about his brand but manages to give some really good help and resolve issues well, regardless w...

Re: Scorpion DC 100 Brakes stopped working
Any time you take any reel into saltwater, corrosion protection is highly advised. Specific application corrosion prevention inside the reel. Taking a reel off the shelf or out of a box and heading out to saltwater with it is asking for trouble no matter what brand of reel. The U.S. Curado DC reel w...

With a generator inside, a microprocessor, and more... back to Japan Shimano with that one!

#2. Just buy it off ebay. Here are a couple of links to the two smallest sizes available. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fishing-Reel-Part-Shimano-Reel-Star-Drag-Grease-1-4-OUNCE-TUB-A-DRA1-4/173666289834?hash=item286f5148aa:g:wdkAAOSw~2Vb~~FD:sc:USPSFirstClass!32804!US!-1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fishing...

Re: Shimano spinning reel annoyance
Is the best option to tighten this up to put a shim on the pinion? Would this go at the bottom of the pinion where there is already a small washer? I'd say no. I have never seen anyone put a shim washer on the pinion of a spinning reel. They go on the main drive gear and change its position within ...

Re: The Power in IKE, Abu Garcia & Mike Iaconelli's MIKEC76-6
I was referring to the rods being made in China, since the review was for the rod and the question was specifically about the rod. I think you're right regarding the Revo reels, though. They have always been made by Doyo/Korea. I appreciate the response and thought I'd add this quote I found online...

Any idea where these rods are made and who makes them? I did not see that in the review information about the rod. I was also looking for made in... among the photos too.

Re: Chronarch MGL clicking sound
Always mark your gears and reinstall at the same point. I have never done that, and haven't had any problems. Very true. This is not something any brand of reels would recommend except for spinning reels where some gears have to be set in specific places due to the irregular shape of the oscillatio...

Re: Chronarch D one way clutch roller bearing
I just pulled up the schematic for CH101D7. In your reel the AR is press fit into the right side plate BNT 4027 and is not generally end user replaceable. Shimano wants the entire side plate replaced with new AR bearing. That being said, in the shop sometimes due to unavailability of parts we someti...

Re: Pinion 3-Washer Question
Do the three really thin washers for the pinion bearing in the Chronarchs go on top or the bottom of the bearing, or doesn't it make any difference? Thanks much. The schematic shows them on top, but my new MGL has them on the bottom. I just checked the schematic for the CHMGL150HG and it shows them...
