Re: ?'s for the fly guys...
Thanks for the info fellows... always good. I plan on building on a St. Croix SCV fly blank and noticed that they only come in 4 to 5 pc, that was one reason I was looking for advice in that area. I suppose with the blanks nowadays the four piece blank should be ok (i like 2pc too if I can get away ...

http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h237/ROM8397/?action=view¤t=CustomSCIIIFlyRod003.jpg Above is a fly rod I tossed together for my uncle... it is a St. Croix SCIII blank. I used a SiC stripper guide and single foot nitride rings for the rest of the rod. It is a 4pc, 8', 5w rod that he wanted t...

Yeah, I have not used mono is some time, but if you want my quarters worth I would have to pick P-Line CX and CXX.

Re: What's carolina rig?
I’m no historian by any stretch, but I would think that it would be derived off of what Cat fisherman have used forever, but I think the drop-shot was a derivative from Crappie fishing too. From my unscientific view that is…

Re: Shaky Head line preference
P-Line 10lb CX is super strong, thin, and I've not had a problem on Old Man Miss with it. But I suppose with the stained waters in my area I could use braid too and it would not really matter as I use straight braid for all my stuff except "shaky-head, crank-bait'in, tossing my culprit worms, and th...

Re: Custom St Croix Legend Elite + Daiwa Sol
Dragon, It looks like a "Hosel/s," which you can get at donarts or other various outlets. I would assume that it is fashioned by a light coat of epoxy on the bottom of the hosel and then anchored in with the finsh at the top. I'm sure other more informed folk then I can give a better account, just m...

Re: St. Croix Tip
Should be a ID of 5 (I think that is what their blank tip is sized at for that model - might want to call St. Croix to make sure though or you might end up with an extra tip) and probably a 6mm ring (again call them they will tell you what they use on that model). I assume they still use Fuji Alconi...
